Great stuff! Wayback I was a serious Frisian tapetrader. Not to rip off the bands but to spread the word of metal. Dutch Steel was great trading stuff for nwobhm and eastern European heavy metal demo's instead of sending money in strange valuta over the border hoping to receive an obscure demo. Money always get lost but cassettes didn't.

Such a shame that this asswipes from Dutch Aardschok magazine with überpuppet Metal Mike totally destroyed this band by constantly whining about the vocals. Even though they appeared on the Aardschok Metal Clogs compilation with some serious guitar shredding going on.

Still have this gigposter. Also from other shows with Vandale, Ruthless, Vortex, Challenge, Thoron, Sad Iron, Axa, Highway Chile and so many other Dutch Steel bands.

Many moons ago this band called Metallica asked S to join them after a gig on the "Aardschokdag' in Zwolle where Horizon opened the festival in the Netherlands. The inner sleeve pic on Ride the Lightning is from that same day.

As a fan since '81, I believe this is actually better then the original. Just one headbangers opinion. UDO is a true rock legend.

I heard this on the MIT college radio, when I was on holiday in Boston. I LOVED it, knew I needed to figure out who sang/performed the song, and holy crap but it took me a LOT to find this tune- but I did- thank goodness for the internet! It's so rad. How can I own the song to where I can play it any time I want? I will gladly buy it if you have a link, ?

The end of a legendary radio programme. Living near the German/Dutch border, Dutch radio was always great to hear. I also remember a programme on Dutch radio, which was every Tuesday from 16.30 - 18.00 hrs (must have been in 1980 and 1981) and every Wednesday from 17.00 - 18.00 hrs (I guess, Hanneke presented this as well). Later, Hanneke's programme run from 21.00 - 22.00 hrs. every Wednesday. Those were great time. And later, there was of course "Vara's Vuurwerk". I still have recordings from those times, especially the live recordings from the "Aardschok Dag" and "Dynamo Open Air" from the late 1980s.

I wonder why there is no material worldwide from this great band. because they don't go out with big bands to concerts or massive world festivals. T-shirts, hats, more remastered records, market products. it is a great band and should be recognized as judas priest, the stones, kiss, queen or the beatles.

Wauw ..er is geen pen die mijn euforie kan beschrijven om dit fragmentje weer eens te mogen horen. Ooit dit opgenomen op een gammel cassettebandje en net zo lang gedraaid tot het bandje was versleten. Mocht je nog meer nummers hebben ... graag !!!!!!
