Thank you so much for this video. I’m researching this and another brand to see which one I want. Still trying to figure out the Tri vs Quad…even though it’s self-explanatory per se. Thankfully I can ask my husband about that part. This is more of the type I’d like to have, but more research is needed. Love the interior. I didn’t think I’d like it so much. Really need to find out if the back seat is pretty room. I have a huge dog that needs to be all the way in the back.

I had the exact same dilemma when ordering! Storm blue looks gorgeous and unique. At the end of the day, I liked the clean, two-tone look of glacier white with dark wheels / darkout package. I'm just over two months in with 2,300 miles and everything is going great. No issues have cropped up and I'm pleased with how well the vehicle is built. The acceleration and performance is incredible and I appreciate the ride feel and adjustable suspension (coming from the stiff ride of a Model Y). Range estimates shown in the car UI turn out to be generally accurate. The adaptive high beams are quite impressive when driving at night, progressively turning off pixels of the headlamps as other traffic passes you by. Still absolutely love the interior and the Ocean Coast seats have been easy to wipe clean. The most recent software update from November 2024 has dramatically improved the sound quality of the Premium Audio system - it's gone from disappointing to pretty good. They've rebalanced the soundstage and the EQ, so high frequency sounds have better separation and vocals no longer get muddled in the mix.

You should do a video on how noisy the interior is when driving, between the suspension at speeds around 10-20 and wind and road noise when on the highway.

Charge port is still CCS / J1772. Native NACS would've been nice. Rivian provides a free NACS adapter for DC fast charging at Tesla Superchargers, and I have the A2Z Stellar adapter for AC charging.

Pictures/Video don't convey the feeling of the space inside this car. I remember 70's big cars, felt bigger then that. Hope Rivian can keep going.

What's the range with your configuration?

When set to the All-Purpose drive mode (default), the vehicle shows an estimated range of 280 miles at 80% charge and 346 miles at 100% charge. Switching it into Conserve mode adds somewhere between 30-50 miles to the range estimate.

Love this SUV. The only thing that gives me hesitation is the reports that the cruise control is completely unavailable sometimes… I hope this is fixed by the time I’m ready to buy.

Thanks for the video. The attention to detail on the plaid interior is impressive. I do think it’s interesting that you are having problems with the driver side panels. I watched another video and the owner was saying something similar: the corners of the panels weren’t lining up, and trouble with the driver side window, closing in a way that bent the metal a little, causing wind noise. Can you please update us on what happens when you bring your issue to Rivian? Thanks!

My friends Rivian had a camera go out and he backed up into a bumper pole. He got an estimate for $32,000 to fix it and then it had to go to the camera shop which they said would take about four months before they could take the car in. He's going to get rid of it, he also took it in the snow and said it was fickle and he doesn't trust it. All that for $100,000 car.

The audio might be the weakest part of the whole vehicle, especially given the price range. My vehicle has the Premium Audio package and music just sounds muffled. Vocals and different instruments all get muddied together, it's lacking clarity and separation. I'm coming from a Tesla Model Y where the soundstage seemed much wider. The one bright side is that Dolby Atmos spatial tracks from Apple Music sound great, but there aren't many Atmos songs to choose from.

@@papermodelplane Thank you for that. I actually have a Tri-motor R1S on order and I'm just waiting to hear when my delivery date will be. I'm within my estimated delivery date, so hopefully it will be soon. I'm excited but a little disappointed to hear this about the audio. With that said, perhaps it could be improved with future updates. Either way, I can't wait. Thanks again. Enjoy your beautiful car!
