Hello, I have a problem, I bought the resistance wire as in the video, but it shows resistance from 0-40ohm, it should be up to 60ohm, what am I doing wrong?

@@ryss15 do not worry, as long as you have between 40-60ohm you should be good.

at 40 ohms it shows 1/4 tank, it should show empty, I think I need to buy a wire from another manufacturer

@@mickaelsnake6027 not an immense increase just with the carbs alone, I haven't taken it to the dyno but I'm guessing with the carbs, schrick 292 cam, 123 distributor and spark improvements it should be a little over 100 HP. Take in consideration that factory HP was around 90. Overall the gains in HP are not huge but you can definitely feel the power increase. Plus with the LSD and soon to come Z3 steering rack the driveability improves a lot too.

Hello, thanks you so much for this video, i am close to properly refurbish one for my 318i E21. Unfortunately, the bottom contact of the float was too rusty and the small connector have vanished, i tried to solder something but it is far form ideal because the plastic melts very fast. Any chance you have this little bottom part which the one that gives the contact for empty tank (plastic + contactors). Thanks !

Hello, Thanks for this video. I have a problem with my gauge level it always indicate the level at its lower on the dashboard. However, when the level is low the light signal turning on. Do you think this could be related to the wire? I'am just like if the wire was broken the light will be on all the time isn't it?

Sounds like the wire is fine. Most likely the float is stuck on the bottom position. Go ahead and inspect it using this video as guidance. Good luck! 🙌🏻

Hello, not likely. Only give wrong fuel level readings.

At that time it had a free flow stainless exhaust with two resonators and 2.5" pipe all the way to the headers. Now it has a walker quiet flow exhaust, same diameter.

@@davidesemenzin8042 Double 45 DCOE Webers, fully ported head, Schrick 292 cam, 123 Bluetooth programmable distribuidor with Bosch blue coil and Bavarian spark plug wires, 3.73 LSD diff, rear camber adjustment kit, all poly bushings, lowering springs and full 2.5" SS exhaust. Borbet type A rims with Maxxis 225/50/15 tires all around.

Hi Issac, thanks for the explanation. How can I solder the thin wire to each terminal? It seems each terminal has some kind of resin to hold the old wire but that resin doesn't melt to hold the thin cable back. I was using a regular iron soldering tool and soldering tin. Tks

Hello! I would get a 0.5mm thickness copper sheet off eBay (they're cheap) and cut new tabs of the same lenght. Then remove the old tabs and solder the new ones. Hope it helps!

Hello Isaac -- great video -- I have the sending unit with the feet for the filter. The filter has deteriorated. Is there a place to buy a new filter for the unit or do I need to replace the entire unit ? Have not been able to locate units with the feet, so am hoping can replace the filter. Thanks

Glad it could help! I would gladly do it but I'm currently located in Costa Rica and the shipping costs here are insane. For around $5 you can get 10 meters of wire off eBay and that will be more than enough material so you can do it even a second time if for some reason you don't do it right the first time. Trust me, it's a lot simpler than it looks. Good luck!

My current setup is: IE shorty headers with 2.5" collector + 2.5" stainless steel pipe + vibrant resonator + BMW E30 M3 resonator (x2) + Walker Quiet Flow Stainless Steel muffler, all of them 2.5" + Akrapovic muffler tip (double). Will upload a new video soon (WAY quieter).

Cluster came with the car but has cosmetic customizations and cupholders are universal door panel cupholders.

For M40 motors you need ITBs rather than carburetors.
