this song is xenogears both symbolically and metaphorically, every thing the game is trying to bring across on an emotional level and all the meaning the game is meant to have in musical form, it is both flawed and a masterpiece much like the game itself, remember there is nothing perfect in the world but despite how broken this world is and all of us are we can have in impact on each other for the better, we must strive for the truth to the best of our ability!
The coolest thing is how everybody plays a part at this point. Even Chu Chu, who was a gag character, does her part to help out here. This is one of the best tracks across the entire Xeno franchise😊

Just bought the pixel remaster on Steam. First thing I did was go into the "arranged" sound tracks..."The BGM tracks were given new arrangements, under the full oversight of the original composer, Nobuo Uematsu. The themes we set for these arrangements were “following tradition” and “proper evolution”, so that we did not change or damage the image fans had of the original versions." - copied from the Square/Enix Website....I cannot believe it. That whistling right at the start soars to the heavens, as fast as and high as the airship flies. The tune is kept simple, after all the world has been devastated simple hopes are all that's left to cling to. The arranged version is too soft and way too complex for the setting. I almost want to return the game out of disappointment.
