How would u divide a whole single number by a whole single number that's smaller than it? Like 8÷5? I'm struggling with this haven't found a vid to help with this specific problem yet

One of my recent videos… m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/fpiZYYScgKyfe7s The same method applies. You would put 5 next to the bus stop and 8 inside the bus stop with a decimal point and some zeros. Keep dividing until you have nothing left over. 👩🏻🏫🐝

This is a lot different than the American way of setting up the "calculation" ( problem) and the way we process we "carry" everything to the top. I found this Interesting. I am looking at this video at 29 years of age so take that as you will.

That is sometimes done in the UK too. It seems to be a generational thing here. A lot of schools teach to carry below, whereas their parents learnt to carry above.
