Very interesting talk. Carolyn asked some great questions and Donna gave some very interesting answers. I don't like tattoos although I have the start of 1 on my forearm from when I was sixteen, high and drunk. At that time, I had an older friend who was in and out of jail and was covered with "Jailhouse" tattoos, which I thought was sooo cool! I wanted one. fortunately for me, my friend who was also wasted, was too drunk and was jabbing the needle too deep causing blood to run down my arm and onto the floor. He felt bad and stopped. Since I matured, I find tattoos gross and the ones on peoples faces very telling. It's like theyr'e crying ink. Imho, they need therapy.

I am so glad I scrolled on through my search until I found this. Self forgiveness is hard for me, because I know how painful the behaviors I got from my parents and siblings, but in an unhealed place, I passed on some of this harmful behaviors to my children. I am having a harder time forgiving myself for this 😭

Tattoos used to be primarily for military men and male inmates. Now, when I go for a walk at lunch time, I see far more women with tattoos than men. For me it masculinizes women. One guy said that putting a tattoo on a woman is like putting a bumper sticker on a Lamborghini.

The INCELS on this thread who say they won't date a woman with tattoos is hilarious. First off, your lack of self confidence and the fact you're a judgmental prick will pretty much ensure that 80% of the female population won't touch you. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I have a cousin who parents divorced and she has tattoos. I strongly suspect is because she doesn't have her biological dad in her and she likely feels abondoned by him, likely. Every women I know who has both parents in their life 🧬 has no tattos, just ear piercing to have pretty earings their ears usually a precious metal and jewel 😍.

I’m asking this for my own clarification but the following is my understanding. “Heritance” from somatic cells is far different from what occurs after meiosis in the germ cell line, and it is that cell line that is responsible for transgenerational “inheritance.” In mammals, all of the epigenetics changes are removed and restored back to baseline. The cysteine is demethylated, and the histone’s spatial orientation/morphology epigenetics changes removed, which I find fascinating but is indeed a fact and was a surprise which destroys transgenerational epigenetic theory in fact. This is actually done twice, once after inception and once after implantation. Therefore no prior epigenetic changes from parent will pass to child, barring an extremely rare mistake ie: the equivalence of a rare nucleotide substitution that occurs in a genetic mutation if you will. This has been and continues to be extensively studied, but there is no evidence that the parent’s epigenetic changes can be passed to the offspring. If I am wrong, please elaborate, because I find it potentially dangerous that people are extrapolating this unproven if not disproven theory to subjects that could have large societal implications. For instance, I’ve already seen videos claiming that transgenerational traumas can and has been passed down over time etc, which creates a case for a victim/perpetrator dynamic that isn’t just in the past but in the present currently. Currently the science proves this to be untrue, but there are so many KZbin channels making claim after claim about epigenetic inheritance. Maybe these people are ignorant to the scientific meaning of somatic cell heritance and assume it means the commonly used term inheritance, or perhaps purposefully using unproven theory that they firmly state as fact for an agenda. Either way it’s another example of misinformation that is being propagated, and I can assure you that most don’t have the background nor the ability to fact check, so it will soon be accepted as “fact”, as the word “fact” no longer means truth apparently. Again, please educate me if I’m incorrect, as I’m willing to learn.

I don’t tattoo my body because I don’t want something permanent on my skin. I cannot commit to that. I also have never really seen a tattoo that I thought truly truly looked good. Tattoos just look 'busy' and 'cluttered' on people. They don't 'go' with everything you wear. Sometimes they clash...hard. They are painful to get. And if I want to express myself artistically in my own appearance...it's call jewelry and fashion accessories.

How do you suggest medical advancements be studied? On people? Do you volunteer? Plus, she’s referring to an old study that is commonly taught in even the most basic psychology courses. She is not doing it herself. You don’t need to bash a professional that is providing free information on the internet.

Is it gene change or learned behaviour from watching your parents reaction to cherries? Or whatever they are reacting too?
@kayb68035 ай бұрын
It can be both. One effects the other. You witness trauma repeatedly. That elicits a biochemical response like raising cortisol in the blood. The stress response is repeatedly paired with the experience. The brain creates neuro pathways around the experience and you respond accordingly hence your learned behavior.

When I was a little girl I loved watching historical documentaries ( i still love them ) and I was watching about the Armenian genocide were the women where taken by the ottomans to become sex slaves and they got tattooed by their captors as a mark of ownership or during the holocaust where people got their number as a tatoo.Tattoos make me think of these moments in history. I never got anything ,i dont even have my ears pierced.

Tattoos seem a bit counter intuitive in a sense: if you have trauma and this is your escape, well its a big picture on your skin reminding you of why you got it aka your trauma

These comments are sad. Read Luke 6:37…. Then ask yourself these questions: Was this about trying to understand something unknown to you in order to deepen your empathy and understanding of the human condition? Or was it about feeling superior to others because you think looking “clean” actually makes you so?

Studs, piercings, tattoos, are all fashionable now, but soon they will not be anymore, just like every other fashion. Only problem is that when these fashions are no longer appropriate, it is not so easy to get tattoos burned out by lasers, and any hole that you have made in your face will be there forever. These sorts of self-mutilation are promoted by the fascists to soften a person up preparatory for the injected RFID implant. Once you take that 'fashion', you are as good as dead. ethermail
