The last time I even remembered this song existed, I was a depressed, suicid@l teen going through living hell. I used to listen to it each night to convince myself not to end it, and I remember that I almost did. Seeing this crop up out of nowhere, now as an adult with C-PTSD but away from that torment that made me so badly not want to be alive, wow. If I could only go back in time to tell teen me one thing, I'd tell them that the suffering would be over soon. Because a couple years later, the torment did end. If teen me could see who I am now, I feel like they would be proud. It's not easy escaping a cult, and it's even harder living through the scars it caused. But damn if I don't love each new day now, because I do. And knowing that that suffering is forever over makes each day worth it.
