Hans Brinker (the finger-in-the-dike guy) is not very well known in the Netherlands. The Dutch also don't relate to that story because they know that fighting water is the work of a community, not of an individual hero. Therefore it should not come as a surprise that the story is actually written by an American.

I am Dutch and I never heard of that Hans Brinker book. Turns out it's an American book for children about a fictional Dutch guy, and the American presenter brings up an American book we don't know about in the Netherlands to make an argument against the Netherlands. Ironic haha.

That American presentator is exactly saying what America stood for.. Stupid, thinking they are the best, we are the biggest country so whe are the best. Saying economic of Holland is nothing like the American economic, that's the stupidst thing you can ever say. Holland is one of the smallest country in the world but the economy is very good. America is the country whit no history, whit problems, whit a lot of poverty. And saying a sport only a round a round a round.. Only what the American will see in sport is sensation, things go wrong, in autosport they only will see cars crashed, like nescar. They didn't understand the beauty thing in sport and when they are not good in that kind of thing in sports they said oh that's sport is nothing. What the Dutch trainer sad is absolutely right. And if you make that clear to a American they realise its true but the problem is they wil not admit it and then they are say only stupid things.
