Well I think they mentioned a immersive story mode for the upcoming new VF game. I'm guessing they are gonna do something yakuza like with the addition of VF gameplay, so that might be really cool.

As you've probably felt, sidesteps are pass or fail. A failed step is not attack-invul, it is slower to animate and slower to recover. If you step while the opponent is in the startup animation of an attack and that attack is not circular in the direction you are atepping, it will pass. In any other case, it will fail. Intuitively, the simplest application of this system is this: steps fail in advantage, and steps pass in disadvantage. Never step in advantage because it will always fail and you would have wasted your 'turn'.

Yes I noticed that side steps are more effective when you do something that's minus on block which effectively means late sidesteps are really powerful. Another impoetant thing that I noticed ia that throws track to all sides and you can use them to beat stepping. Throws are also the fastest moves on start up I believe(10 frames). I could have mentioned that in the video actually.

You can't grab people out of attack animations (usually), but you can grab them out of recovery animations. Also, Wolf's catch throw can grab people out of most stuff, including attacks, so long as they aren't in some weird position.

7:28 You _can_ press multiple buttons at the same time to pull off those moves, but the button combinations can also be mapped to single buttons. Which they are by default. P+G (grab) is LB, P+K (strong punch) is RB, K+G (strong kick) is RT and P+K+G is LT. (I think) It was a bit annoying to memorize these, but it definitely helped me cuz some inputs are a nightmare otherwise, at least on a controller.

Yea i know about rebinds I play most fighting games on keyboard/leverless since it allows for the longest playsessions without any repercussions for my hands but that's personal preference. I usually map everything manually to what i feel comfortable with.

If you're playing on a controller, I strongly recommend learning to play with the controller in your lap, so you can work all 3 face buttons at the same time, using your index, middle and ring fingers. Maybe it's because that's what I'm used to, but I would hate to have to play the game holding the controller the usual way, relying on shoulder buttons to do the button combinations.

I saw some people argue that this particular model is from the world tour mode, and the models there tend to be a lot less detailed then in the main 1v1 mode. I personally think this was just an early trailer that was prepared months ago and she probably looks much better by now.

@@LEGNDARY_MIST i like that word "cancelable" might probably be a heavy command button, but we obviously need more details on her kit. I also would like them to not focus too heavily on the lane swap moves from fatal fury (like terry has). These moves seem to be not that useful for SF6.

You are basically one of the few youtubers who has good insight on Chun Li, most just say she still has good walk speed and level 2 super and she's fine. That meaty 5hp after hsbk looks super good! I think the stance mk beats DI because the hurtbox is so tiny. It is nice that it beats stand jab, wins trades with crouch jab and beats walk back unlike stance lk. Unfortunately we have to get a meaty just to make it less risky Do you have any thoughts on being able to drc stance 2mk into 2hp now? It gives some good extensions if you are willing to dump your drive meter I really hope they do more with stance, I want to have a reason to buffer it over drc. It would be nice if it was faster so she could use it as a meterless hit confirm from her normal pokes on normal hit like how Ken, Luke, Terry, Ed and Akuma all have with their target combos. I just really hate how drive hungry she is at the moment. Would also be cool if she could just use specials from stance like how you saying back in one of you older vids. I want people to have to actually respect stance, right now it is risky to use with low reward They should make her 5hp way more ignorant imo it should be a top 3 normal in the game. It is tradition for everyone to complain about it, but right now every shoto 5hp feels better. They should give us back her old 5lk and 5mk. Maybe give 4mp and 5hk some more utility as well since their nerfs.

Thanks for the nice comment. When it comes to her stance mk into drive rush 2HP I personally feel if you are dumping over 3 bars into the combo you are spending too much bar (especially if you don't have a level 3 on deck). So technically it's useful if you get a counter hit/punish counter from one of her heavy buttons. You could go into the launcher + stomp ender for oki or super. Still, there is the issue of her heavy buttons being relatively slow on start up which makes it really hard to whiff punish medium buttons in neutral. -2HP is the best one but it's still 11 frames start up and sometimes is weird to cancel into stance especially if you manage to whiff the first hit. -4HP is 8 frames but it is really stubby and requires almost perfect spacing to not screw it up. -Stand HK whiffs on crouching enemies and has bad damage scalling. -Stand HP is 13 frames start up but has abysmal recovery very easy to whiff punish. The main thing about her heavy buttons is all of them have some kind of issue that other characters don't have. Compare it for example to some other Stand HPs which are a lot better for whiff punishing Cammy ST HP Ed St HP RYU ST HP Luke ST HP Ken ST HP All of these heavy buttons(and a lot more) are a lot better for whiff punishing and faster too. So this kind of results into you having to go for 4/6MP for better reliability but you sacrifice a lot of damage in the process which other characters don't have to do. This is not a complaint really it's just how the character is right now, she's fine but in no way do I think she's competing for top tier with these heavy buttons currently, not with throw loops and her sometimes unreliable anti air reversal as well.

You should always consider that this was supposed to be a "minor" patch. More / radical changes may happen after all the tournaments or whenever they plan to deliver another "major" patch

I think they will stick to big patches once per season with a couple of minor patches every other DLC character. Honestly am not expecting anything big to overall gameplay until Season 2 end or Season 3 launch. So like Evo next year (the NA one).

I dunno how I feel about the changes. I mean, it's nice that H. SBK has a purpose now, since before it had like...one or two use cases that were hard to pull off. But it really feels more like they corrected errors in her character design rather than that she really got a true "buff". I'll take what I can get though.

They literary gave us just bread crumbs, overall she's pretty much the same.Also, I agree with you her character design(gameplay) feels way out of place for street fighter. Her stance stuff is cool in theory but in practice she feels like a tekken dev designed her and ported her to street fighter. Some moves feel like they don't belong in the stance as well. Stance mp for example should be a command normal and instead slap something else in there.

@king_lvr yeah, I love Chun as a character but it's hard to argue with that. I have maybe 1000 hours playing her in sf6 and it feels like when I'm playing her I'm not even playing the same game as everyone else. I can pick up a different character up and spend a few hours in the lab and get better and more consistent results. I do hope they change her more in the next patch but I'm not optimistic.

Overall good video but Im gonna have to correct you on damage scaling. I did a lot of Combo challenges and the second hit of the combo is actually definitive for overall damage even if it has max scaling, doesn't matter. You need unscaled second hit to get a big damage. The damage nerf is about scaling the second hit after ST HK or OD FIREBALL STARTER, if the st hk or OD fireball is not the first hit, you don't get scaling on second hit. Second hit makes a lot of difference at overall damage since its the least scaled hard hitting part of the combo. So yeah, it does matter a lot on her combos. Its a undeserved nerf as well, considering how other characters can dish out so much damage for pressing mashing 3-4 buttons, here you have to be excellent with her execution pressing 10-15 buttons

Haven't played tekken in a while but it probably still works. From what I remember you can miss time it if you delay the d34 after heat burst. You can also try up 34 if you find it easier to time with that motion.

I don't understand how to play effectively charging characters . the command are tricky to do for me especially on combos . For how i play It's not as versatile as a hadoken that require just a half rotation and can also block enemies projectile . I like to play also in classic mode not modern mode so yeh 🥲 Your video is useful but didn't help much in my case x.x.

charge characters take time to get used to. They were initially designed to be easier then regular motion input characters. Personally, I think it depends on the kind of controller/ layout you play with. If you play on leverless/keyboard it becomes much easier to play charge characters.

Just keep at it, usually if you play enough you can reach master. I have a dozen of videos on chun li tech and combos if you need more. She's a difficult but very fun and rewarding character to learn.

It's a Tiger Knee input, there is lots of moves that can be done that way with various benefits. Zangief air SPD, Cammy dive kick (any other dive kick move as well), air fireball (Akuma) etc.

5HP still seems like it sucks, try to use it at all and if your opponent knows chun li or is just a ranked warrior theyll DI it and youre fucked

Yea it's one of the worst versions of this normal, but I'm pretty sure no human can react to a move that starts in 13 frames, so that DI theory flies out of the window. And if they are trying to guess with DI I'm pretty sure they are taking a way bigger risk. You can just randomly neutral jump and kill them for trying to DI your HP. My only real problem with this normal is that the start up is too slow for it to work as a whiff punish tool. So it's kind of stuck as hit confirm if you get a counterhit into combo damage.

Chuns buttons are nearly useless though, the entire cast pretty much outrages her normals, and the one decent poke is 5HP, it unfortunately doesn't combo and is too slow on both startup and recovery to mean anything. She loses neutral to almost the entire cast.

I have a few tutorials for chun li tech on my channel. If it's basic stuff that you need, there is a dedicated tutorial section within the game for each character that does a pretty good job at explaining the basics. I personally would start with learning how to do basic combos with her charge moves and Anti Airing. I might make a video on these topics in the close future.

Even though your comment sounds like response bait I have to disagree with you. Chun is a all round character with possibly 1 or 2 bad match ups only. There is no way she's not top 10.

@king_lvr No, it's not bait. She never won a major tourney from the beginning. A lot of characters that she malls over now has a lot of buffs and bit of a challenge. Her scaling should have been -10, not -20. Need to revert some of the hurt box in St. jab, cr mk., hazanshu should have bigger hitbox or 1 frame earlier start before landing to prevent cr short derb.
