I listened to Elvis since I was a teen. I still do. He will always be no.1 in the list of the music i listen to. I like his voice. His jokes and he has compasion. In today's world it is difficult to find someone like him. People can say whatever they like about him but they will not stop real fans to love him. God bless.

This is 1977 the year he died. So sad. I do see anything about heroin, but he did prior to 1977 O.D. on barbiturates. Here is a paragraph from Wikipedia. Presley's divorce was finalized on October 9, 1973.[245] By then, his health was in serious decline. Twice during the year he overdosed on barbiturates, spending three days in a coma in his hotel suite after the first incident. In late 1973, he was hospitalized from the effects of a pethidine addiction. According to his primary care physician, George C. Nichopoulos, Presley "felt that by getting drugs from a doctor, he wasn't the common everyday junkie getting something off the street".[246] Since his comeback, he had staged more live shows with each passing year, and 1973 saw 168 concerts, his busiest schedule ever.[247] Despite his failing health, he undertook another intensive touring schedule in 1974.[248]

It's so sad to hear how far this great singer fell. The Col. and his own Dad had a lot of blame there

I saw the movie Priscilla, and that is how I remember Elvis, and a much older man with a 14 year old girl. Sort of stereotypical Appalachian. Here he is just sad. My mom and I used to watch his movies, but I had no idea of him being with a 14 year old when he was 24. Why her parents let her move in with him I will never understand, but after 4 years they would not have had a choice.

We loved HIM, IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT MOVE ALONG. You people like Jimmy Kimmel that'a all I need to know, you don't like Elvis you think Elvis fans CARE? go watch 34 y o Taylor running around the stage half naked ''shake it off'' like an 18 year old teenager, too long in the tooth to get attention fully dressed. Elvis could just stand there even over weight and we'd go to see him.

He embarrassed himself a bit that night...ive always found the part where he talks about Mike Stone/Priscilla/stutz vs stud etc to be the most embarrassing part even more so than the drug monologue. Having said all that, the gig itself is genuinely great. One of the best of the period. His voice is really strong and in a lot of the songs he does wee improv moments. Singing a line differently, throwing himself into it, doing some spoken word parts. Some of it is a bit over the top but a lot of it works well and it makes the show stand out compared to a lot of other shows from the time. The gig is desert storm. Look it up. It's better than Aloha.

I love Elvis and understand how the drug situation arose. I am not involved with drugs but do not judge him or his talent. It is the one main thing the idiots hold over him because there is not much else. He worked like a dog with non-stop tours. Maybe everyone who died after him due to drugs should also be minimized such as Belushi, Gibb, Whitney, Jackson, and so many more that did not have Elvis’s demands. Hell , he toured for 8 straight years. King forever!!!

Kind of sad he went on stage and said he wasn’t stoned but he was stoned all the time. I’m a huge fan but he had no control over his own actions. It’s too bad drugs took over like they do a lot of stars.

And that ladies and gentlemen is how you gaslight an entire crowd of fans. "I would never touch drugs.... That girl got pregnant from a picture" I was obsessed with Elvis and I'm not downplaying any achievements or what he was struggling with. This is just what he was doing. Lying constantly and making everyone question what they see. Saying everyone else is a liar. Trying to amp his fans up so they call them liars too. You can hear the applause become less and less the more he talked about beating the shtt out of people. Sucks his life ended that way.

Not a drug fuelled rant. He might have been having a rant, which he has every right to do, but his speech is slightly slurred because of the prescribed medication he’s on - there’s a big difference!

His backup quartet picked up the song for him. Saved the day. He was wound up. Mr JD Sumner ( deep base) and his Stamps Quartet. Miss Cathy Westmoreland was his suprano soloist/ singer in the song. Happy to say I met them all. After Elvis died his band and singers toured the USA with concerts in his memory. He loved singing hymns and would keep the guys around the piano until 3 or 4 am just sin g ing his most loved songs. Hymns he learned as a child. They put on a fabulous concert. Just without Elvis. They came to our small country church and performed a marvelous concert. Then enjoyed a big pot luck church dinner. Our church was only 30 by 60 feet. Got to talk and visit with them all. Next night they were in big au d itorium in Des Moines. Then to Omaha. We enjoyed them like they were family.

Poor baby. Elvis at this time did have a prescription pill problem, but that does not mean anybody had the right to talk about him and accuse him of what they did! Back then we did not know what we know now about opioids they were giving out like candy and as Priscilla said "Elvis would take pain pills to ease his pain or either chase away the Blues"... when he experienced depression and sadness. And I'm telling you hope you opioids are your best friend when you're in pain and when you're depressed. Elvis was a private man and he had every right to keep private doing whatever he did. It wasn't hurting anybody else. Sure Elvis ended up hurting himself but it was up to him to make the decisions he did! Nobody then and nobody now has any right to judge Elvis for what he did.. Absolutely nobody! People need to clean up their own backyards before they go around telling others to clean theirs.
