I have this issue but only missing one bolt! I wonder if it’s that or bc my top and bottom plates have hair line cracks so I’ll be replacing those as well

I call b.llsh.t. Why are there stress fractures at the rear hitch bend 0:55. Why is the transmission caked with mud. I'd keep looking for more abuse, but maybe tell the whole story of how you got high centered in a ditch. Where's the video of how it was unceremoniously yanked it out of the mud hole you drove into.

no bs here man, but i do really like to see what you noticed at the 55 second mark as i now see it too. I need to take a look at this when i get home to see if that is really a hairline fracture or something else like grass remnants, etc that appear in the video to look like a crack. I have never used the hitch part except a few times to move some brush in a small cart that i can attach to it. I certainly didnt yank it out of a mudhole or anything like that, i wouldnt have wasted my time doing 2 videos and then merging into one to post on here if i had really done that. I was trying to let other possible owners know of this weld break that i saw. I know its dirty under there, but i do take care of the important parts of the mower like the engine, oil, etc... so it was disappointing to see these welds give way from a 200 lb guy riding around with the pretty flat terrain that I have. I do know that with the 3 bagger grass catcher unit I have i let that son of a bitch fill up as much as i can before i run it over to the woods and empty them, so maybe that was a mistake over the years that extra weight was just too much.

I bought a Craftsman, built by Husqvarna, with a 25 HP engine 22 years ago. From mid March through October I have mowed 3 acres of grass that grows 3-6” a day twice a week. Besides grass I grow rocks that I sometimes hit. I have to replace deck belts every 2 years and an occasional spindle. Burns a little oil now. I’m almost 80 now and giving up my 3 acres but my neighbor wants it to use his 4 acres. All my neighbors have had 2 and 3 mowers in this same time frame.

Used to fix this at least 2 times a mouth, it's caused by going from forward to reverse to aggressively. Depending on who was buying them, sometimes we would beef them up first before delivery. Not a big deal.

appreciate your reply on this and what may have helped cause the welds to give out. I dont think I slam it from F to R that aggressively but maybe i do it without even noticing. I know it's dirty under there but I drive it pretty easy, at least i think. Thanks again for the note though.

I have a Husqvarna RZ46215 zero turn that I bought used from my uncle, and neither of us have ever had any issues with it in the last 8+ years. I own 3 acres with only about 3/4 of an acre being a yard. The rest is food plot or natural growing, and i use my mower like a light duty brush cutter on a regular basis. I've also accendently have hit stones and stumps while making trails through the non yard part. This week, i got a little too close to a tarp and it pulled it in, that did shut the motor down. After i got the tarp un wound from the blades it fired right back up and is working fine.

To be fair if you wernt ridding like a dumbass it wouldn't have happened, i have a craftsman DYS4500 6 speed manual and ive welded the dif. Ive has no trouble and the fact it still hasnt broken amazes me but the fact is you hit something pretty damn hard for it to crack that aluminum case. 7 years is pretty good for somone who obviously doesnt know what their doing.

Never had a problem with my Husqvarna rider, it's all in the maintenance. I've had some really bad JD mowers and a few others. I've had some really good toros and some good JD mowers but really never had this kinda problem even when I was mowing my parents 7 acres.

I have a 20 HP single cylinder Briggs in a 42 inch cut Craftsman that I bought new in 2008 Preformed regular maintenance and had to replace carb as the fuel shut off solenoid was having issues. This rider still has original belts and I attribute that to slowly engaging the blades. Been a great mower and still looks and runs great.

I bought a John Deere 717A zero turn years ago. I mow 2 acres. The only thing I’ve had to do was change one belt. Even the blades are still good but I did buy a second set to swap out. The spindle shafts and blades are massive. I don’t pick up tree limbs unless they’re bigger than 1.5”. I bought this mower to be my last. I’m 67 now and it may outlast me.

@LeadfootPTM 67? its just half time break. :D. have a look at all the dirt under that LAWNmower, to me it seems someone is doing dirt-track-trucking. and that gearbox torsion bar is not the only issue with it.

It would be fair to mention how thoroughly the scheduled maintenance has been and if the directions in the owners manual have been followed properly. I’m not accusing any one of anything, no disrespect, I’m just saying every story has several angles that must be considered.

@@kaleb8518 nah man, i just drove it like i was supposed to. I know i did load the 3 bagger grass bins up to their ass every time so i am thinking with my 200lb weight + those heavy ass bags over time the stress on the shitty welds was too much and they gave out.

The funny part is anyone of the 7 annual inspections you should have done at a minimum would have found the loose bolt long before it broke the housing. Lucky for you it is a easy repair. While you are at it tighten up the axel bearing bracket as it is visibly loose at the frame. I am sure if you abuse your vehicle as you abuse your mower it would not last 3 years. Ignorance is not excuse. Maintenace is a requirement. The axel bracket is loose because to much weight has been hung off the back and the factory welds have broken. Most dealers do not reweld but just bolt it

thanks for your reply man -- this video was only the first part of a video and for some reason was posted under the SHORTS section of YT. I do appreciate you telling me about the 7 annual inspections b/c i do all the stuff that i think I am supposed to be doing on the engine and greasing the wheels but not sure what annual check I should have done on this rear end? The bracket I show that snapped was not the main issue, it was 2 weld spots that gave way, which were the main spots this mower is mounted to the frame, the secondary part is the bracket that i saw that was sheared off. My buddy noticed the welds that were broken and i had missed that. I will def heed your advice and look to tighten up the bolts in this area as i move forward/. Here is the entire video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZofLmoSKbdacpbM

7 years isnt that bad if it served you well. You lost power because the whole rear end shifted forward, causing the drive belt to become loose. You could place a magnet on the housing where its supposed to have the bolt go in. If its steel then it will stick to it. That means you could just weld the bolt in place. Takes about 15 minutes to fix. And youll retain power afterwards.

7 years is pathetic for a home user cutting one acre once a week for maybe 7 months a year. It's kind of sad that you're so used to stuff not lasting that you think this is ok. OP, buy a kubota next time.

I too like this video having the same issue with my five year old de 75 hayward.. I recommend following his tips also to check eack them filter rod tubes are screwed tight but after making sure the diaphram is cleaned on both sides.. this may require taking a nutdriver and removing the plate nuts to inspect and or clean anything where tubes screw into the plate.. ..( anotherwords really inspect each one of the tubes.. Also 1/3 gallon muriadic to 5 gallon bucket of water mix ..soak the unit overnight tha will help clean all the dead algea matter etc.. avoid soaking the gaskets ( only the tubes) than assemble everything to spec. that's my next plan

Thx so much - I have DE blowing in the pool too. Hayward troubleshooting guide said tighten bolts (they never said which ones) or change the diaphragm gasket. I ordered a new gasket, but your video has me thinking, maybe it's these bolts! I'm going to check the bolts first while waiting for the gasket to come in. Thx again.

Can you do a vid on replacing the one-way check valve in the bottom of this filter?

They sure didn’t make that easy to get to, did they? Our last front loader had a special panel at the front to snap off to let you drain and clean that filter. I’m wondering if I might modify the sheet metal at the front to make it simpler for this regular maintenance task. It would be interesting to see if anyone has done that. We’re having the same continual Sd error, and I bet that’s the problem. Thank you for posting this video.
