Hi Darren, Looks like you were in the right place at the right time. It's great when that happens isn't it. You'll like that Kate Bush CD. It's one of my all time favourites... of all time. The whole album is beautiful. I can float away to that very well. That Roadrunner compilation looks interesting. Back in the day they used to have the 'Stop the Madness' emblem printed on the back of their album covers which was an anti drugs campaign. 👍

The great thing about low priced used CDs is that one can be a lot more exploratory when picking up albums that look interesting. If you don't like it, then you are out very little money, but if you love it, then you know you can spend a little bit more when you run across another album later. Great pick ups! Can't beat the price either.

Gilbert O'Sullivan is a very underappreciated singer/songwriter, especially in North America, in my opinion. You do see his albums everywhere, but that is mostly because he is not classed in people's minds as a songwriter, aka Dylan or Prince, but I've always thought his songs were well composed and his lyrics very inspired. Even when he was in his prime, I respected his music while everyone else seemed to make a bit of fun at him, at least where I grew up. When I mention his name as a great singer/songwriter, people still kind of look at me sideways. Thank you for featuring him on this video. Royal Republic sounds interesting, I'll give them a listen. Nice find with the 4 Slade singles. I really like the Steeleye Span albums I hear, but currently have none in my collection though I do see them from time to time. I do like their more traditional folk sound. Nice find with the Snowy White single, that's something you would never see in North America. Great pick ups, quite a variety, and I love variety.

My fave is Easy Action - not sure who really wrote those songs but it is a very sophisticated album and the singing is superior. I had a patient who was surprised I knew so much about the old band. Her Babysitter was Dennis Dunaway's wife, Christie. She made the early stage clothes for the band. Easy Action! Got a rocket in my pocket! Refrigerator Heaven! Shoe Salesman...wow that was above the pay grade of most bands. Mr and Mrs Demeanor. Rocked my world at age 15.

Hi Darren! As I have said earlier, it is always so informative watching your videos, but here we have some albums I also own and love (I have to check out the others)! Here we go: The Eric Clapton - "MTV Unplugged" I own for a long time and it is still great! You will have joy with this for decades to come! I am ashamed to say, that I like the Foo Fighters very much, but I don't own one album by them, yet. I have to check them out on record - maybe a Best-Of at first. I'm a huge fan of Motörhead and I have seen them several times. It is still kind of surreal to think that Lemmy is no longer with us. So, I own most of the band's albums, but "Overnight Sensation" was still missing in my collection and I bought it last month for almost the same price as you paid for it - converted to Euros of course. Great album! The collection of the Stones is a great compilation! I think, you can't ever go wrong with the Stones! Twisted Sister is always great and I own their albums, except one - I'm searching desperately for "Under The Blade"! But everywhere I look, they sell it for a ridiculous price. I will not pay 50 - 70 Euros for a LP or CD, even if I like the album very much! I think, I have to wait for a reissue - which will come sooner or later, I'm sure. Having said all this, I, as well, only buy records (be it CDs, LPs or cassettes) I like! I don't buy just to have some more albums in my collection (I still find the term "collection" a little misleading for my music collection - here is the word again... LOL - it is simply the soundtrack to my life! But since it is so difficult - at least for me - to come up with another short term for this life-soundtrack, I probably go with "collection" as well. ;-) By the way, I am rebuying my stolen (yes, they were stolen from me in the late 80s) albums by Plasmatics and Wendy. O. Williams and today was a good day, because I have found a collection of three early (78/79) EPs by the Plasmatics as a reissue on one LP! 😀Even if I like the later Plasmatics and Wendy's solo work more, it is a great record! It is called "The VICE SQUAD Recordings 1978-1979". If you like this kind of music (punkish metal), check it out, if you like. Have a great time and I am looking forward to your next video!

Thank you for mentioning my 672-page book, "Jim Reeves His Untold Story." FYI, I updated the book in 2018 and it's available worldwide in print or ebook versions on Amazon. I notice you are a big vinyl fan and you mentioned the old "duets" which combined Jim's voice with Patsy Cline. Over the years I have produced a series of CDs for EU and Canadian labels that feature previously unreleased recordings by Jim. We've used big league pro musicians and background singers, including Grammy Award winners, to overdub many of these tracks. FYI, we also used new technology to produce two NEW duets ''That's My Desire" and "Have You Ever Been Lonely." Unlike in the analog days, with its limitations, we were able to get Reeves and Cline to harmonize with each other. Among the releases I've produced are Jim with the Nashville Symphony, songs that were not known to exist like "How Many Tears From Now" (which we gave a bluegrass feel; it was a demo recording), and "I'm A Hit Again," which Jim recorded in his basement studio at home a few days before his death. This was long rumored to exist but nobody could find a copy of it and Mary Reeves never released it. But I tracked it down and we recorded the overdub in the SAME basement studio where the song was born. (Jim's former home is now owned by a Nashville musician/producer). So it was truly historic. The latest CD is "Jim Reeves His Country Roots" which consists of demos we've overdubbed. Jim envisioned himself as a perennial favorite and as you probably read in my book, he told Mary what he hoped she would do if something happened to him: overdub his music to keep it sounding "current." In fact, though he didn't believe in life insurance, he told his wife that his unreleased recordings were her "insurance." Hence Jim Reeves is the only artist in the history of recorded music to score 34 charted hits AFTER his death. Nobody else has done that; not Elvis, not the Beatles. Of the scores of songs by Jim I've updated (including a new version of "Distant Drums" with a beautiful orchestral arrangement by Milton Smith, whom Elvis hired shortly before he died), it hit #1 again on radio playlists worldwide. I knew Mary for 33 years, from the time I was a teen, and am confident that she would be very happy that Jim's legacy is still being honored. -- Larry Jordan
