Strikes me as a stupid comment, a good example of literal thinking. Of course, Beckett used his experiences in life for his writing, whether they were his relations with friends, lovers, family, neighbours; or his experiences with bosses and career failures; etc., etc. But that doesn't make the plays ABOUT any of those things.

He was honest answering how to become a director . Nowadays 2024 it’s a lot easier you can easily making a movie via KZbin . Back then I believe was really tough . People today knowing how to use this powerful tool , internet , they can truly become successful

Ths is a video of the film yes, but the print is as battered as any I've seen projected, so it pretty much IS a video of the film.

Ah, that unforgettable ‘creeping’ camera movement at the end! And the sonics (from birds to echoes) which expose a strange inner and outer ‘Raum’: vintage Antonioni❤❤

thanks a lot for posting this excerpt; as an eight-year inmate of the formerly 'venerable', now somewhat shady monastery school there en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kremsm%C3%BCnster_Abbey#Child_abuse i was pleased to see our then english teacher father nikolaus zacherl [he died on19november2020 - the benedictine priest turning up several times after 6:12] again; in 1972 our annual 'mai-ausflug' took us to vienna, and we visited the austrian film museum and "were forced" to watch this film (we liked the bits dealing with kremsmünster, though!) - like franciscan friar william of baskerville in 'the name of the rose' father nikolaus zacherl's soul was also driven to a few 'little vanities' i guess...) i wonder if the couple getting married at the beginning of the part dealing with kremsmünster are still alive...
