The Metros of Merseyside, Greater Manchester and Tyneside have recently received new trains. However, West Yorkshire has not had the first line of the promised West Yorkshire Metro approved by the new Labour Government.

Why is ScotRail electrifying the urban network, while the West Yorkshire region of NR is still extending the use of obsolete diesels, i.e., the Class 15x's?

Why has the line between Cambridge and Kings Lynn been electrified before the line between the larger Cities of Leeds and Hull?

Have any Electrostars been cascaded to Leeds Neville Hill Depot, or is Great Northern retaining all of them for the Kings Cross to Cambridge, Bedford and Peterborough services?

Has the upgrade of the Station Parade at York started now? It should prove a great improvement to reduce congestion at the entrance to the short stay car park

Extremely common working back then, extremely prohibited now. The Stafford collision in 1990(?) demonstrated why routine misuse of permissive signalling arrangements was a real safety risk. Imagine what would have happened if there was a door opened on the HST and the guard dropped the brake in 😮
