You seem to have a special affection for the key of D major... Have you considered doing 55:D9 and D5 La Galante as well?

D major plays well but is not necessary. I have TWV 55 D9 ready. Maybe we'll play it next season. I can't get a score on TWV 55 D5. The Darmstadt archive should be under MUS.ms 1034/17 but is probably not available digitally.

Galizona after Thomas Edlinger 1728 It was funny - I started to play lute 22 years ago, but galizona I have played for the first time only when I have built it for my customer 🙂 but I have to tell you it has been fatal moment in my musical life because I have fell in love with its obsessive and surprisingly strong sound. Apart from the versatility compared to theorbo I also love the possibility to play chromatic bass in basically viol tuning, which for me playing viol is a great advantage. The performance is being determined by the higher measure-higher tension effect of the strings. I have found as ideal 6.1 kg for 1st string. But the instrument is an excellent accompagnement mate too by playing full chords in basically guitar tuning you get full strong base for solos of any kind. Thomas Edlinger single strung model preserved in National Museum in Prague comes from 1728. I have noticed that the body shape is almost identical with the Tieffenbrucker archlute preserved in Vermillon, which is no surprise, Edlingers adherence to Tieffenbrucker lutherie is known. 900 mm measure as by original, I have used padauk, alpine spruce, ebony, pear, bone. The instrument was played en concert on 5th of January, Telemann E minor concert for calchedon etc, possibly a premiere in Czech playing original instrument.
