Do you know if it works on chalk painted surfaces? Apparently, it comes with a warning: contains Xylene. Unsuitable for certain surfaces, like finished wood.

How do you keep the resin from adhering to the tape?
@Coyasauce
@Coyasauce 5 ай бұрын
The idea is it adheres to the outside of the tape (instead of the coaster edge) so then you can peel off the tape and have clean, resin free edges :)

I decided to skip background music in this tutorial, let me know what you think? Do you prefer just me talking (with a few silent sections), or do you miss the ambiance of some lofi background music? 🤔

Thank you for sharing the beautiful work, you can see perfectly how laborious it is and the dedication it requires. I wonder if the brass and gold pinata behave the same... I have the gold and it always ends up in the background of my painting. 😞

Huge thanks for sharing! How will the technique work in case when some areas must be covered with masking paint?
@Coyasauce
@Coyasauce 5 ай бұрын
Since the paper is porous, masking it off wont work well (because the inks will seep through the paper and under the masking tape/fluid. Might still make a bit of a difference so feel free to experiment!

I love listening to you say, "Gold Leaf" 😅. It was a really helpfully video and thank you for the product suggestions. Is there any reason why this adhesive wouldn't work for applying gold leaf to a stained glass piece?

Are those pieces you showed in the video on watercolor paper? Also is the painting you showed with the resin done on canvas? I love how it looked so thick like a piece of glass. I'd love to know, can you can get that look on cardstock, mixed media paper, or watercolor paper? 😃
@Coyasauce
@Coyasauce 10 ай бұрын
Yes it´s a watercolor paper! The painting is done a wooden art board like all of my resin art! You could experiment with other surfaces but it needs to be a solid support otherwise it will warp or sag with the weight of the resin ( and the resin would soak through any thin porous materials like paper). But if you mount paper to a wooden board then it should work fine!

Hi, Stephen. That sounds like a good thing to try. I was wondering if you found masking tape too sticky if Washi tape would work? Of course depending on the type it might not be sticky enough. It's actually been a long time since I've used Masking tape, I usually use painters tape for crafting so maybe I'm picturing Masking tape as being more sticky than it is. Anyway, just thought I'd mention it in case you experiment with the tape. I'm also very curious to know the outcome. Have a great day/night!

Question you use a hair dryer doesn't it dry out your paper too fast?
@Coyasauce
@Coyasauce 5 ай бұрын
I guess that would depend on the ambient temperature, thickness of the paper and the temp of your hairdryer! On a cold setting mine works fine :)

That is beautiful Sequioa! A bit fast lol, but you have other options to watch. Your art evolves like magic, I love it. I have my 99% Isopropyl now, hair dryer is atill on the way. In my golds etc, there is so much fluid, I think thats ehy I cant make a line with it, just huge blotches where ink etc is repeld by it 😖. Is it possible to make ones own with mixing mica and a tiny bit of alchohol? I have also ordered a few small sheets of naro parer. Everything is so expensive here in Germany.
@Coyasauce
@Coyasauce 5 ай бұрын
Hi Lynda sorry I didnt reply sooner, you can definitely mix mica with your inks, I have tried it and it does make nice effects, but to me it was spreading out in soft clouds of sparkle, not really staying in lines. But maybe you'll have better luck with it!

Thank you - that was amazing. I am a newbie and ots not going too well with my golds etc - thay come out in blobs not a line. I am also waiting on another heat source to arrive - have been using a straw and the little blow ball. I have yuppa paper but not all inks are perhsps good quality ( I inherited some, mamy of which are dried out - but could perpahs be brought back to life with alchohol in their containers)? Also my alchohol is not isyprophl, its something else - will try to get some 99% today. I am so appreciative that you did that tutorial so slowly, that it was easily understood, also your voice is fantastic! See you later when I have my isyprophl afterwards. I am so looking forward to it - I thought I was crazy - all these tutortials, which look so easy and mine just dont look anything like them. You showed it beautifully, exactly hiw it should be - I thank you so much! lynda 💕🧚🏼‍♀️
