Hi Peter. Happy New Year to you. Very nice countryside you're visiting here. How long a walk did you talk on each occasion (Haystacks and round the lake)? What is the elevation of Haystacks? Lovely view from up there and, despite the temperature, a superb day for it. Love, Alan.

@@caroledryburgh8937 Hi Alan, happy new year to you both too. The Haystacks walk was about 9-10km and the summit is 600m although I started off around 100m. The worst part was the descent over loose scree and ice. Buttermere was flat and about 6km. I'm still suffering from aching muscles but I achieved my goal! It was truly magnificent up there on a crystal clear day.

Hi Alan, great you found my video, have you checked out my others. Yes, I got fid of the 360 camera and now use a Hoverair X1 camera drone which is largely autonomous (Google it) plus I have a handheld DJI gimbal camera. I still use Mt DJI mini 4 pro for the long shots.

Hi again Pete, Yes I have looked at several of your others. They pop up now when I go into KZbin. Does the new drone autonomously follow you under low hanging trees and through narrow gaps, or do you have to take over then? The aerial views certainly add value to the land level images. Some nice walks you have been on this summer. Alan.

@@caroledryburgh8937 Yes it follows me autonomously but it doesn't have obstacle avoidance so I have to be a bit careful. It crashes from time to time but it's well protected and doesn't get damaged.

@@pghoward Thanx Peter. Enjoy the rest of your summer walks and I'll follow along via KZbin. Take care. Alan.

Hi Pete, Alan here. How are you videoing these travelogues now, as you clearly are not holding the 360 unit you use? If by drone, how are you controlling it as to distance and height?

Sorry I thought I'd replied. The "drone" shots are actually a Hoverair X1 which has pre programmed flight modes and doesn't need a controller. Great for when there's only one of you.
