I think there are some small hotels there. But it is very rural area. If you're going with the family, then staying in main kanyakumari is the best option. From there you can take a bus to reach thirparappu.

Nagercoil to poovar.. boating ku total ah 1200 ketanga .. nanga 3 family so aalukku 400 pay pannom.... 2 hours boat la suththi kamichanga... 5 places kamichanga... Beach la konja neram time spend pannitu return boat la kooptu vandhu vitutanga.... Nalla enjoy pannanga kids lam....

9:30 am ku Vadasery(Nagercoil) bus stand reach panna kaliyal bus la pona thirparappla irangalam. apdi bus kidaikalana Vadaseryla irundhu Thuckalaiku polam. Adhukku neraya bus irukku. Thuckalaila irundhu thirparappu illa na kaliyal pora bus la polam.

It is better to prefer private vehicle to go to mathur thottipalam. There is rarely buses availabe to mathur. You can ask the drivers while going to thiruparappu.

You can go to mountain top by walk. There are stairs to reach the top. But you have to take the ticket for walk way which also costs same amount of cable car
