Working through this issue now with a more conventional Samsung fridge. (non-French door but "Twin Cooling" which seems to be the problematic system) I've moved the sensor inward as well as installing a new heat transfer tab near the drain. I'll gladly update my comment when I have more data on those fixes. (I haven't added sealant or weather-stripping yet)

I'm going to try that weather stripping tape next time. In the past I've used a small piece of copper wire looped around the heater and poked down into the defrost drain hole which seems to keep that area from icing over. For the upper right area where you were working I've used a rubberized mastic tape.

I have a Samsung French door refrigerator that came with the house I bought in 2016. Had this issue recently and ended up calling a local refrigerator guy. He explained, just like everybody on this video has said, that this is an EXTREMELY common issue with Samsung (and he said LG's as well). Had to pay $560 for him to replace the control panel (of which some circuits had burnt out because of the moisture), thermostat and fan. I called Samsung and they said since the refrigerator was out of warranty the only thing they would have done was send their own technician and I still would have had to pay for it out of pocket. If it was under warranty it would have been covered.

I know this an old video, but I've just come to need it, so it's new to me and I have a handful of quick questions before I try your solutions. 1. Is the fix still working now? 2. What type of sealant/caulk did you use behind the fan assembly? 3. Did YOU remove the existing foam gasketing before applying the weather stripping?(Only want to do this once, so if it worked for you I'll do as you did.) 4. Did the CA glue do any damage to the styrofoam? 5. What type of spray foam did you use? Was it minimal expanding fire blocking foam? The color made me think it could be fire blocking foam. Thank you for the video and any answers you're able to provide.

Make sure the DOOR FLAP ENGAGES. It's an easy miss and this is MOST of the reason for unnecessary built-up. To fix, either shim the left door up ($10 shim kit - or 3d print one), or shim the catch at the center of the door down as needed. Also replace the tab at bottom of the heating coil with a piece of 12 or 14 gauge wire that goes down into the drain, to prevent ice dams from forming and clogging the drain

Left the foam around the square port at the bottom but had to remove the rest.
