Hi, any tips on where to park? Looks like there's only room for 1 car? Busy place?? Thx!!!
@tomgilland3 жыл бұрын
I believe the footbridge is still closed due to it having been surveyed by the council and deemed unsafe. There are very few parking places and it may be necessary to park further along the road, taking care not to block any gates, and walking back.

Is this place a small area? Is everything beside each other? I'm bored of visiting fuengirola
@tomgilland4 жыл бұрын
Most places are near each other and it's much, much nicer than Fuengirola (IMHO).

Don't know if I'll bring the fishing rod to spain, wonder if you can rent one? Thanks for the answer to my question
@tomgilland5 жыл бұрын
I don't know about renting one, but there are usually beach traders selling them so I expect that they are cheap. I don't know how bad they are though.

Tom, Thiose fish you shot are Mullets, I did some looking and found another video with the same fish. I think I will bring a box of lures, just in case!!

I've never seen anyone fishing inside the marina so I think it could be illegal. Lots of people fish at various places outside the marina.

great video very well put together. we have just come back from Benalmadena we only went for a week and we never seen the market that you shown. I didn't know they had one. i have done a video of the Marina but its a totally different style to yours. i could take some tips from you. great share i've shown you some support. keep up the good work. Ps. what did you use to film the fish underwater?
@tomgilland5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your kind comments. I used an Akaso V50 Elite action camera in an underwater housing to film the fish. The flea market is on every Wednesday morning next to Parque de Paloma and the main market is on every Friday morning next to Tivoli World in Arroyo de la Miel. Your video gives a good in depth look at what is available at the marina.
@EllisTravel5 жыл бұрын
Tom Gilland hopefully we will return there one day as we had a great holiday so will catch the market now that I know it’s there. I would love to catch some underwater shots. I just use my phone so I might try to find a waterproof pouch for that. Thanks for checking out my video 👍

Great video how do you get to the camilty weir I’m a keen photographer and would love to get some photos of the area.But it all seems to be private roads.Any help would be appreciated.
@tomgilland6 жыл бұрын
The Canmore site is working again so if you follow my instructions below you'll find the map at this link helpful canmore.org.uk/site/270114/camilty-gunpowder-millsI had tried to copy a map from the Canmore site, but it is missing from my reply below. The site itself appears to be down at the moment. Sorry. Ignore what it says about private roads as you have right of way in Scotland and no-one will try and stop you. In my experience they are a friendly bunch at Camilty. Also ignore the old sign about being patrolled by dogs, it isn't. Just past Camilty Lodge follow the track to the left. Just before Camilty Mill Cottage you will see a fenced paddock area to your left. Follow the track down to the left at the corner (it's quite muddy). At the bottom of the hill the weir will be to your left. It can be quite difficult to see, but shouldn't be too bad at this time of year with all the leaves off the trees. Probably easier found by listening for the sound of running water. I hope this helps.

Is Benalmádena a good place to spend the winter? I'm looking for a place to escape Canadian winters. As a senior, I need an area where it's easy to grocery shop. Public transport to visit surrounding places of interest. If anyone knows of apartments that has an indoor pool as swimming is beneficial let me know. Monthly rental budget €600. Thanks
@tomgilland7 жыл бұрын
My personal opinion is that it's a great place to spend winter (or any other time). The public transport is great. For the buses, get a tarjeta verde (green card) from any Tabaco shop. This will save you about 30% on the fares. You just preload it with money. For the trains get a tarjeta dorada card. You'll need your passport to prove that you're a senior.
