I just bought a new Macbook pro M3(coming from windows based). I have 3 monitors I am trying to connect. I am using Dell lightening docking station. It's working but only in "mirror" mode and I do not see an option to "extend displays" in the display settings. So all three displays are not independent from each other like I need them to be. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thank you! May need to purchase your product.

Hi there! There are external display limitations on the M3 when using Thunderbolt. The key here is that our quad display docking station mentioned int his video (model: DK31C4DPPD) is using DisplayLink technology and does not use Thunderbolt's video output. DisplayLink almost functions like an external graphics card and is intended for everyday browsing, word processing, spreadsheets, etc., (not intended for 3D applications like CAD or gaming). It will provide 4 additional extended displays from your M3 MacBook up to 4K 60Hz each.

Why Apple is retarded is because my 2015 intel pos mid year MacBook Pro 15” with the Radeon graphics upgraded card will run the laptop display and 2 27” dell monitors. I don’t care about 4K so 1080p is fine for me. Another gripe is when you lock the screen Apple and all the apps take a crap and lose their place on the two external monitors. Yes it’s on a big docking station with all the connections. Hopefully by next year in 2025 when I upgrade It will be an M4 chip and it will be the last Mac I buy.

Would be great to have the "to MacBook" connection be on the back of the dock since this dock would be put permanently placed in some spot where you would want to keep the front open for temporary connections, and you would leave the TB4 cord in permanently.

Hello there! We just answered a similar question below! In short, M-chip iMacs do have limitations, but you can still get around it with DisplayLink or even Silicon Image chipsets like our 107B-USB-HDMI. Depending on your setup, you may be better off with. USB video adapter rather than a full fledge docking station, especially if you don't need all of the ports and features a dock would provide for a desktop system.

iMacs do have some limitation with maximum displays. However, DisplayLink chipsets should work fine on iMacs but you would have to ask yourself if you require a full docking station (which are generally intended for laptops and usually include laptop charging) or a DisplayLink-powered USB adapter providing two video outputs. An example of a docking station providing dual displays (without the power delivery laptop charging feature) is the DK30A2DH while a USB adapter offering dual displays is the 109B-USBC-HDMI. Hi there! Our docking stations are designed for high-performance users. Although we do not generally test with gaming applications, if your objective is to get a particular video resolution and refresh rate that out docking station supports (and that your monitor supports), there should be no reason why that wouldn't work. Ultimately, your laptop's hardware specifications would determine how well gaming applications work for you.

Hello! Our hard drive duplicators perform a sector by sector copy, which means that the target drive must be the exact same size (down to the sector) or larger than the hard drive that is being copied. During a sector by sector copy, each individual sector is copied over to the target drive, regardless of whether or not any data is present. A 500 GB hard drive with 50 GB of data on it will take the same amount of time to copy as a 500 GB hard drive with 450 GB of data on it. can i connect three 2k 120hz displays ?
@startech
@startech 2 ай бұрын
The DisplayLink chipsets we use in our video adapters and docking stations are bandwidth driven. So for example, if our DisplayLink adapter or dock can achieve triple 4K 60hz, it should also be able to support triple 1080p 120hz. 2K could be supported at 120hz, but there are a few variables like bitrate, actual resolution (2560x1440 or 2048x1080, etc.), as that would be very close to capping out the provided bandwidth. Hello! Optical audio only has enough bandwidth to support uncompressed two channel audio (also known as lossless PCM, or LPCM). In order to send 5.1 (DD or DTS) or 7.1 (DTS) audio signals, the audio needs to be encoded into a compressed (lossy) signal. This requires three things: That the file or source disk being played has audio that is encoded in Dolby Digital or DTS. That the playback software supports bitstreaming the encoded signal (instead of decoding it in software). This may require downloading additional codecs (K-Lite Codec Pack is recommended). That the attach device (AV receiver) be able to decode the compressed DD or DTS signal. Playback software known to support bitstreaming are MPC (Media Player Classic), VLC Media Player, and Kodi.
