finding a shop after getting out of the station is sometimes a bit tricky because it depends on what train you're traveling on and which exit we take I hope you'll find it on your next trip :D

Between this shop and Surugaya, which one do you think has the wider range of products? I'm planning a trip to Tokyo probably next year in November to hunt for old regular release kits and some premium ones that I missed to snatch at their official Shopee page due to botters and scalpers (curse them all lol) so I'm probably gonna comb through Akihabara for a whole day or two for results.

They both have a wider range of products, But Otachu is more organized. You should come to both places, a day is enough. But the prices can give you a headache sometimes, lol. Mandarake will be waiting for you on your next Japan trip. You can also try to visit Mandarake Nakano, Tokyo. Just make sure to buy extra baggage for your return trip 😁

I randomly came across your gundam buying guide. I now own 2 metal builds both were purchased from ebay. Last time when i went to Japan in Nov 2023 i has zero clue about Gundam prebuilt collectibles such as Metal Builds. I ended buying some Robot Spirits but now i know what i want, metal builds. This guide is PERFECT for me, for my future trip to Japan and Im from London. Thank you so so much brother, i wrote down all the shops on my notes app now haha. I never knew there were this many metal build shops. I went to Gundam Base tokyo assuming there was metal builds, i went to Akihabara tamashii shop and found Hi Nu metal build and the strike gundam Metal build, i qeued up 40 mins to get in! I just didnt know where to look back then. Keep up the great work.!

Opened 5/24/24 across the street from the prior store. Limited stock, few pre built models or dioramas, kits are high up on shelves requiring staff to assist. More of a museum than the traditional hobby shop. A disappointing visit.

I agree, it's more like an exhibition than a store. Indeed, the new store gives a different experience because of some new areas and a modern look. But for ease of shopping and the number of items, I personally like the previous store

@@davidebert8034 honestly, the price here is more expensive I don't know why, maybe because this one is the flagship store many shops in Akihabara have better prices and provide free tax shop best places to find plamodel are Joshin Oji, Yodobashi Akihabara, Radio Kaikan for rare models, pay a visit to Surugaya Akihabara plastic model hall

Is it true Gundam base are low on inventory for gunpla kits? It was point out by a few KZbinr on their recent trip to Japan.

it's not always like that, depending on the moment. most of the time, the stock is often well maintained. but the last time I was there at the beginning of this month, the Gundam base used a lottery system (for a whole week) to determine who could enter.

Your welcome! Nothing in particular,just buy anything that you want. Just be carefull because the prices tend to overpriced for popular items.You can also visit Radio Kaikan on the 2nd floor, a shop called Astop, similar to this one.

Was just there,not particularly good prices or selection compared to many other stores in the area. Yellow Submarine, Ami Ami, and Mandarake are still better, not to mention the smaller places like Lashimbang, Surugaya, and Liberty. It only stands out because it’s Gundam specific.

Yes, if you want to find some "special" gundam,otachu is one of the best place. But for regular gundam,the other place could be better, espescially for the prices.

Hi nice content. Love Akihabara but I didn’t buy a single anime figures because I was so focused on buying Ps Vita there so instead I purchased these babies online second hand or brand new. Hope if I return there I will really hunt for figures 😂
