The perils of Peter. What a lark! Gosh that Palazzo looked perilously high but you showed true grit taking the plunge. Never a fan of Guadagnino but your spiffing review has beguiled me yet again. PS: It’s only queer if you’re tied to a pier (allegedly)

I'm a big fan of the novel. Daniel Craig in a film about a gay artist takes him back to his roots with 'Love is the Devil', an underrated gem. My only reservation is the runtime. Can Luca Guadagnino make a film under 2 hours?

Your 3 star review speaks volumes. Kneecap are anti establishment. As a writer for the Guardian you ARE the establishment. The overwhelming support from the audience is all it will need. I don’t think this is your bag Peter. Stick to wine n cheese mate

I hear them question if critics understand what entertainment is when they give thoughts on action packed violent cinema and if it can still have meaning and of the film industry needs it or is better off without it. What do you have to say to that do you like explosive action packed popcorn films and do they epitomize anything good about hollywoood and the film entertainment industry?

Dear Pete, I feel compelled to bring to your attention the fact that you have yet to commit to ‘vlog’ your wonderful (re)review of Béla Tarr’s superb ‘The Werckmeister Harmonies’. I do so only in order to have the opportunity to convince you that this magnificent film is not, in fact, Tarr’s “masterpiece” (as you mused was a possibility), but that Tarr’s ‘The Turin Horse’ is undoubtedly the greatest film of the 21st century. Yours, etc etc

The Edward G looks a hoot. For one his finest and ripest performances you can’t beat 1947 the freudian The Red House, rural noir with lashings of baroque suspense. Luce with its drones and disassociation doesn’t sound as entertaining as your book which I’ve finally read…Tales of the unexpurgated. I’m waiting for an opportunity to roll out the ‘emotional concealment is emotional congealment’ line. More please.

Peter, are you losing the plot? This film is a sub Lynchian mish - mash of genres with some bad acting, embarrassing scenes, flaccid dramaturgy and the product of a juvenile imaginative. Of course, tell the story of awkward teenage angst but not like this. I couldn't stop rolling my eyes, I'll never get that £10.50 back.
