Thank you very much! There was an excelent mod from JP Logistics for this C152 with DME situated just bellow from the NAVs. But it was removed. Now there are hundreds mods of Cessna just changing colors... But the important thing is the DME indicator to check distances to VORs. This mod seems to be the only one that has it. But I was not founding the way to activate it.

Hi from France. Thx 4 this tuto. I have 2 remords : 1) you did not set the center of gravity. Is it optional ? 2) I thought the LNAV had to be set only after departure. Jean-michel.

Centre of gravity fills itself in when you put the zero fuel weight in. I like to put the LNAV on early because it won't light up if you have put some information in wrong. It is much easier to fix something before you get started than after takeoff. Hope this helps

Good effort however there is a lot of very strange things that you probably shouldn't have done. Most notable ones were whacking the throttle to to/ga and using anti ice at 21 degrees (???)

Thanks for the pointer. I realise i put anti ice on. I have no idea why lol. Just for future reference, how do I use throttles for takeoff realistically?

@@agrindr1 first and foremost, whenever flying a multi engine aircraft, you must initially spool them to 50% n1 (40% for boeings). Since the engines may have varying performance profiles due to age, wear etc, they may spool up at different rates, meaning that if you go straight to full thrust, one might reach that full thrust drastically before the other which may cause you to veer off the runway. So you must wait until both are stable at 50%, then full. Secondly, to/ga is rarely used, since its much more efficient to use a lower thrust setting if you can still make it off the runway. Most of the time "flex" is used which works off the basis of an "assumed temperature". More or less, you will see a "flex to temp" option on the t.o perf page. lets say you enter 60. the aircraft will basically trick the engines into thinking its 60 degrees celsius outside. Since thrust available is inversely proportional to temperature, this will decrease the thrust. So you must select a "flex temp" which should be calculated from a takeoff calculator. afaik fbw a320 (since i fly the fenix) doesn't have one just yet however i believe there are some online ones. Then on takeoff, instead of selecting the to/ga detent, theres a flex detent on the quadrant just before it. Bit of a long explanation but i hope it helps.

I WANT a stall warning just as im landing? That has been driving me nuts, thinking im landing too slow and im gonna smack the runway hard. Which might also be true.

Yes. The stall warning means you are as slow as possible and as long as you are close to the runway, you should settle nicely. However, if you are too high it will be a hard landing. It comes with practice.

Thinking about just 1 wing staling blew my mind. I had no idea, but it makes complete sense.

Is the ice in carburetor modeled in game? I think I need to turn all the assists off

Good to have mnemonics in the sim. In real life, in a real P28A, always use the checklist!

Interesting to hear different views. I've always been taught in real life to memorise the airborne checklist.

I just realised I missed F.F. in the B.U.M.F.F.P.I.C.H.H.check. F.F. is for flaps (up) and fuel (on and sufficient, fuel pump on).

Good one. Learned a bunch. I suppose you'd check the sea level of the destination airport before takeoff so you can calculate how much you need to adjust the barometer before hand? Is that information available on littlenavmap or similar?
@agrindr1

You can check using littlenavmap or atc however in msfs you can press 'b' and it will automatically set QNH for you. QNH will also be on local weather reports (METAR) which can be found on Google or you can use an aviation app. I use Avia Weather on android.

This was so much more in-depth then I was expecting. Love it. It makes me feel guilty for spawning on the runway.
