why did you choose the porter over the montezuma or the shay?
@sambozeman5266Ай бұрын
Great video! That grade up to alarka junction is deceptively brutal. You are going to want at least the medium consolidation to get up there to the coal mine, i use the decapod personally
@barrydheilАй бұрын
Sadly, it doesn't grow, but you can expand them with mods. I wouldn't recommend the mods yet, especially while on a first run through, because the mods can be a lot of extra work, especially Birdtown, which adds 4 or 5 industries Just to Ela.

I don't think at the moment roads go anywhere but it is still early access so the map get bigger more engaged.

Did you improve your graohics Flopps? It looks good.
@Thesunisalaser-xs6ojАй бұрын
Tip: You can customize your locomotive number and whistle.
@barrydheilАй бұрын
Once you get past Bryson and on to Alarka, I would suggest saving up for a C-28 consolidation or a k-28 logging Mikado, especially with the grade up to the top of the coal mine. The pacific might have a bit of a hard time dealing with the grade.

Can confirm, tools are needed for repair now. It used to be you just paid the workers and that was it, but the Devs have been gradually trying to make it more realistic.

With Night Ops, I find I usually have to crank my video settings to max brightness, but I do enjoy watching them. If Railroader could up moonlight brightness for streaming the game, that would be amazing.

When you are running the locomotive - you can move parallel to the loco and down a little so it is easy to see the tracks. You will see what angle fairly easly.

Woot woot! Oh, Tier 1 is relatively light, most industries go up to 3 or 5. One industry on level 5 can have up to 20 coal cars. Oh, and I also nearly forgot, DHTrainz does a really good couple tutorials if you need any help figuring out the game. The other lane is for cordwood, kind of like how RO has both logs and cordwood at the logging camp.

I knew that would happen! Happened on another guys save too, exact same issue clipping on the water tank because the linking points aren't correct for the cattle farm.
@Flopps-ys9jjАй бұрын
Oh well I think it turned out nicer because of it Also those linking points are a blessing and a nightmare most of the time they make me go grrrrr

Where do you plan on adding the cattle farm and the Meat processing plant? Honestly, it would be kind of interesting to see each one in different sections of the map, like having the cattle farm up near the logging camp, and the meat processing plant down in the valley past the gold refinery.
@Flopps-ys9jjАй бұрын
processing plant is blow coal mine and cattle farm on the other side of the hill near freight depot

I think "Horned Toad" would be a good name for a F&CH 2-4-2T... that has antlers on some of its options.

Hope you're doing okay there Flopps! Also, no need to apologize to us about flipping switches, I enjoy listening to her rumble down the grade whether I can see her or not. I guess up next is getting some of those big ole coffin tankers for the water, getting some more cars to haul around coal, iron and the like, get some more bulkheads for oil, and set up the water industry. Oh, and I had a bit of an idea, what about running tinier locals, and having Behemoth or The Owl be like a main line engine? Have a Class 48, a Tenmile, and a few other small engines run between sections of track between each yard? Adds a bit of extra challenge that way.

Yeah I agree on the gold mine thing. Paydirt it makes sense to be hauling lots of it, but you're going to maybe have enough gold to justify betsy moving it with like 3 of those cursed tiny dump carts at most if it was just a panning site.

Casey Jones is a good name Flopps! Why is Casey Jones so famous? Tuesday was railroad engineer Casey Jones' would-be 159th birthday. His life was cut short at 37 in a railroad crash. The infamous accident eventually made him a folk hero, with numerous ballads written about him throughout history, including tunes by such greats as Johnny Cash.Aug 17, 2023
