MPC/Junk have some 80mm wheels with big cores, they used to sell them as "road war" but only Junk shells them now afaik as their "pro" single pour line. I think they may be different size core from the 84 but I haven't looked at mine in a while. Either way I really like mine and they're neon green which is always cool.

As someone who's always on 4 wheels, I wish there was some mk2 frames that ditched the center wheel for a cross-brace like on the swans. It adds more rigidity instead of an open hole I never use, looking better and improving the ride
@kurtpascal89435 күн бұрын
As a compromise u can buy an extra set of axle, and after the wheels are a bit more used, u can put that axle trough the middle hole. It looks not pretty but i think it will give a little stiffness.
@CritCommanda4 күн бұрын
@@kurtpascal8943 I'd rather weld a little beam myself if possible and remove the center wheel divot. The center wheel divot looks so weird when its not being used, which is all the time for me. Using an extra axle is a good idea though, better than nothing.

How are you looking at your frames while you are skating? 😝 I think “improving the ride” is not a universal thing that happens if you add internal bridges. It’s fair to say “it changes the ride”. It really depends on the application and design goals. Also, before judging the mk2 frames ride performance I would suggest folks try them. I believe you will find they are very rigid and offer more responsiveness and speed (as we discussed in the video). I highly recommend you try the 3x110 or 3x100 setup on your frames if you haven’t already. It’s hard to beat for speed and stability. And despite what you may read on the internet you can totally city skate in 3x110 on the Endless 90. Once you skate it for 10-20 miles the wheels wear in a natural rocker and it becomes quite maneuverable but with the added benefit of the greater speed and smoother roll from the larger wheels. Let us know if you give it a shot!
@CritCommanda2 сағат бұрын
@@endlessblading I know you COULD city skate a 3-wheel set-up, believe me I've tried it and its not for me. The agility requirements for my crazy city makes skating 3-wheels only beneficial for trails, which I never skate. I will always take the agility, balance and stability boost that 4 points of contact will allow over 3 points of contact. When I say 'improving the ride' I mean more rigidity less torsion and you feel it in the responsiveness. To each their own, I'll stick with the swans. I was just hoping the mk2's had an option for a cross-brace model instead of all of them being 4-wheel/3-wheel hybrids. Without the 3-wheel option the ride height can be lowered, adding more improvements to the ride. Or 'changes to the ride', however you want to 'frame' it.

WIth LED wheels there are awful cores and good cores in terms of the magnetic property. Chinese wheels have awful cores that barely make the wheels light up but you can always buy proper ones. Basically the bad ones have a more brown magnet and the good ones have a black magnet. About urethane. I don't feel there's too much difference between them. I have all sort of brands for LED wheels and the ones I like the least are the RB Moonbeams just because they're 82A. None of the wheels I have chunk out or wear out too fast. The chinese ones are 90A so they require smoother surface but that's about it. My favorites are Flying Eagle Lazerwheelz in terms of quality and tolerances. The logo is awful but you can use nail polish remover to erase them. Luminous are also great in terms of material but is hard to find cool LED colors on these and is hard to predict how they're going to look. They make weird color with white LEDs inside that don't do the trick properly. I have also a bunch of Hydrogen that I barely used (came with my twister XT and 3WD) and yes, I can tell they're a smoother ride cause they're 85A and also faster. About magnetic wheels on metal spacers. I think it would be pretty hard or impossible to make since the magnets probably cannot withstand the heat. it is a shame but good plastic cores can withstand quite some pressure. I never had any break on me. Another interesting fact is, that the magnets on these cores have a specific magnetic pattern. I tried re magnetizing bad cores and they totally lost their property and the wheel doesn't light up at all. Final fact, these cores do not work with friction, they work through induction. Just like a PC fan and that's why they don't free spin as long.

Thanks for watching three grown men ramble about their personal experiences with various inline skate wheels. A couple of post-livestream editorial notes: 1. I misspoke when discussing why round wheels are slower than bullet profile wheels. I mentioned friction as the cause. I should have more accurately stated “rolling resistance” or “rolling friction” which results in energy losses as the urethane deforms and recovers as it rolls. 2. If you catch anything that is factually incorrect, please let me know and I will post corrections. We want our fellow skaters to have accurate information. Also if you have additional insight to add regarding specs or construction of a specific wheel, please feel free to leave a comment.

I love these geeky skate talks. One quick question on the frame locks: as someone who has always just centered my frames, what are the advantages to offsetting them? Is it just a preference thing or can you get more power transfer with an offset frame?
@endlessblading7 ай бұрын
I think offsetting the frames is helpful if you have alignment issues on your boot (carbon boots are notorious for sloppy tolerances since they are handmade), or if you are trying to correct a pronation issue. Perhaps someone with a race background can weigh in with thoughts regarding performance benefits to one’s stride.

@endlessblading7 ай бұрын
The overall ride height of the 90 LR is about 1 mm higher than the Endless 84 Trinity. Because our 84 mm wheels use the same core as the 90 mm wheels they are nearly as fast (greater ratio of core to urethane which makes them stiff and speedy), but are a bit lighter. Thanks for the kind words and for watching the episode!
