Best wishes for Mavis to settle!! Do you offer your goats a mineral buffet? I have been seeing lots of positive things about giving goats the free choice minerals. Allowing each goat to consume the individual minerals, in the quantity their body needs versus the mineral mix given as free choice. I find it so interesting that the goats won't overeat minerals and will seek out the specific mineral their body needs. Hope you guys had a WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS!! Thanks so much for sharing and stay safe!!🙏❤🇺🇸🌲

How do you handle the stress of the mommas, it’s cold where we are so I want them inside and bottle fed but I don’t want mommas stressed out

I have found separating them earlier really helps with that. I think you have about seven days before the bond is very strong.

Sorry about Mavis is not getting pregnant 😢. I need one doe from her! Hope she can get pregnant this time, but I have the same problem with my goat , last year she was breed 4 times I didn’t know what’s was wrong but I just write the date she was breed in case, I just waited then after that she had 3 babies, checking my notes she was breed on the third time. But was strange for me too. After that she’s getting pregnant like before at the first time. I am not an expert on goats but I think you know your goats well , you should just wait and keep trying. Thank you for sharing 🙁

@@devenlamar3900it actually could! Although two years in a row definitely doesn’t sound like cvv it could be worth looking into! I know people who had issues with does that had cvv retaining fluid which causes them to not be able to carry a pregnancy. I know a few farms that dealt with it a few years ago had a doe or two that would not take so the second year they ultrasounded her and found fluid in her uterus, after a round of lutalyse to clean them out they were able to take and have a healthy pregnancy

I sit a rubber gromet over the light on the phone. It stops the escaping light and directs it into the egg. I also have a 1000 lumen torch that an air pump attachment fits over and narrows the beam to about 1.5 cm. It works really well.
