I still don't understand people being so against gender-affirming surgeries, it doesn't affect anyone but the person getting the surgery (and you have to be 18 and be put on a waitlist to even get those surgeries,😭)

@@Slasher2005 Had no idea states were pushing for that, but as minors they'll need their parents' permission to go under those surgeries and likely have stricter guidelines and requirements (I could always be wrong ofc, but they certainly won't just allow minors to make that sort of decision on their own)

However, you were talking about how it doesn’t stop illegally owned guns but the fact of the matter is most shootings are done with legally owned guns. There are loopholes that need to be gotten rid of and there are guns that need to stop going into the hands of civilians.

@@Dani-rp2pf In the United States, firearms must be purchased by someone at least 18 years of age. since most high school students graduate at 18, the idea that most guns used in shootings are legally obtained is laughable. One of the questions the purchaser must answer truthfully is "Have you ever been adjudicated as a mental defective or have you ever been committed to a mental institution?" LYING IS ILLEGAL. Another question is "Are you subject to a court order restraining you from harassing, stalking, or threatening your child or an intimate partner or child of such partner?" again lying is illegal.

A lot of people take guns from their family members that they live with because their family members don’t lock their shit up properly. I can’t remember her name, but there was also a school shooter. Her father bought her the rifle. She was the one who was aiming at her favorite color. You could also answer those two questions truthfully and still go onto to be a mass shooter
