BTW from what you showed about your setup from last time on the real PS2 (being able to play custom burned DVDs), you could search the net, get the pre-patched 'True-Analogs AC3' ISO and burn that, since it seems you want to use dual analogs :)

I enlisted in 1987 and I can tell you the military is too lax on recruits today. Basic is to toughen you up and teach at the same time. People today sorry for the lack of terms get to but hurt from getting yelled at. Combat is combat people will die if you don't kill them they will kill you. We did not have the suicides like they have today. If you think military life is bad think of what the vets went thru back in ww2 and Vietnam for basic training today's training is like going to Disney world.

Son you enlisted in a relative time of peace and want to lecture those in actual warzones? The fuck do you get off. If you think I or any now were coddled in the service then you're just wrong. As for the suicide rates, you were paid more on average than those in the service now and were held to laxer standards where Sexual Assault and other substances were allowed. Sorry to say You wouldn't cut it in today''s force and your attitude just confirms it. Sit and spin.

Even though it's rolling dice to join the military I'm actually going into the Navy to do LS to do the logistics specialist and I know that all these risk are involved however I'm coming off of being homeless I'm sleeping on the streets of literally being broke and having nothing and nowhere to go and risking freezing to death in the middle of winter because of the situation while both of my parents are dead and my entire family abandoned me and left me for dead so for me the military is the only way as I don't have time for anything else to develop it's the only way for me to have a fight and chance of a stable job I mean they give you a place to live they feed you they give you a paycheck like like I will I've got me a little like sleep room apartment that's really clean and nice right now but I also don't have a job I've got less than 90 days of bill money left and I'm right back on the street I was going to absolutely end it all when I was on the street before and for those of you who have never been homeless you should try it and then join the military I know the most probably sucked but I'm telling you what being homeless and having society treat you like you're nothing but the gum on the bottom of their shoe and yeah you can fight back you can you can hit people in the face I did but you can also end up in jail you can you know you can stand up for yourself and not bully be bullied but you can end up in jail you can you know you're the automatic bad guy you're automatically the criminal I had somebody spray me in the face with mason I was the f****** bad guy because I was homeless that guy better hope I never catch him coming out of a bathroom I tell you what I ain't nobody's punching bag but the thing is is you know sometimes you have options but all of them are poisonous so at the moment mine is end up back on the street or join the military and see how that goes like none of my options are great but reality is f****** reality no matter how you like it no matter if you like it or if you don't like it 2 + 2 equals 4 and it doesn't matter how you feel that's just facts I'm not being cocky you're arrogant or anything like that in fact I'm absolutely terrified of joining the military I know that if I end up back on the streets and that I'll end up probably killing myself I mentally or emotionally handle being homeless it's it's something that you can't compare it to anything else it's f****** trash the worst thing that I've ever been through in my entire life

I'm sorry, that all sounds incredibly rough and I can only hope you the best. I know that it's terrifying, but, the navy is a pretty good branch to join, it'a unfortunately got a bit of a reputation for sexual assault, but since I was assaulted in the Air Force, what do I know. You are making the best choice you can make and I nor anyone will begrudge your choice. Keep your eyes open, keep your head down, and you should be fine.

Well thanks I'm just trying to make the most I have a bad situation the town I'm it's absolutely hopeless everywhere requires like three or four times like what they want for rent as an income so if they want $700 for rent you need to make like 4 gs which is like why I was homeless for so long to even though I was working and it just doesn't make any sense the only reason I got the place I got is because it's crazy cheap and they only wanted two times rent month after I moved in I lost my job I really like this little place a lot I mean I'd stay here if I had the money to stay I like it I ain't trying to go get myself killed or anything like that but going back to the streets is absolute suicide mentally and emotionally I won't make it I've seen what happens to people and it was starting to happen to me people that's been in that situation for too long they're they're absolutely bonkers I'm not the joke and kind the broken kind that can never be healed like they will never ever be able to live a normal life even if they won the lotto their brains they literally have brain damage and I feel very for those people but it's because they've been in that situation for so long it really does something to your mentality and your spirituality in your soul after a while and maybe the military does to but at least it's a controlled environment you know it's total absolute chaos and anarchy when you're homeless and everyone in the world is against you every single person doesn't matter even pastors they automatically assume that you're on drugs or that you're crazy or that you go to learning disability I'm none of that I'm extremely intelligent I've never done drugs a day in my life how I barely even drink you know I really it just comes down to not having enough zeros in the bank account not being not having enough money that's really all that came down to unfortunately we live in a society where that's really just the way people are and the hatefulness the the automatic assumptions the way that society treats you when you're in that situation and the assumptions are just staggering you you wouldn't think it you know I mean you clean yourself up your shower you shave your clean clothes because you do your laundry because you're a normal personas soon as someone finds out you're in that situation their entire mentality and demeanor changes against you and sometimes I can get mean and nasty and even violent for absolutely nothing

He's right, I joined during the time that classic commercial was running. Our military, like every aspect of society, is slowly crumbling by the design of our government and oligarchs. Is the military worth joining or no
@Thalimon
@Thalimon 9 ай бұрын
That depends on your economic circumstance, if you can get the things that are benefits elsewhere, you're better off doing that. If however you're a part of the ever growing poor then I'd say the upsides can outweigh the deficit, but, you're likely going to be traumatized or injured. You're likely going to experience things that you shouldn't like sexual assault or harassment. It all depends on where you end up, what branch you go into, and, the job that you have as to your true experiences. For me, I think that it was an experience that got me away from my abusive situation and be a person for a while. I was sexually assaulted, and injured on the job a few times. I have some PTSD from my deployments and over all, I view my time there as somewhat formative. Better than my home life, not that i was sexually assaulted until the military but I digress, but that's not saying much. I view it overall as a positive experience in my life, but, my life has been substantially better since I got out.

The military does have resources for transition to civilian life and services to help find jobs, though, the VA is incredibly underfunded and cannot possibly service all the people who need it. Nor is there enough jobs for all people who need them. You have to take what you can get sometimes. Especially when you’re injured or now have a mental health issue that makes normal interactions or jobs untenable.

If you go Officer it’s not as bad, and join the Air Force for gods sake. I did enlisted infantry, and then went Officer (Human Resources). I’ve got 20 years in, it’s only worth it if you squeeze every benefit out of the military that you can, which I did. I have a bachelors and masters degree, fully paid for.
@Thalimon
@Thalimon Жыл бұрын
That is assuming you can even get the degree in the first place, and if they’re hiring for any of the positions. While we’re spending so much more on the military we’re cutting down on the personnel. So while I agree whole heartedly that this is the way to go if you’re going to join, it’s a raw deal for most involved. I still think it’s much better just not to join for a majority of people who consider joining.
