I turned down countless acres over the 28 years of cutting. Even with perhaps a better balanced machine I worked by myself and I just would not take the chances that some others will. The loggers on you tube who show themselves logging in other countries with the LKT 81 skidders are Crazy. Put that skidder in the search bar here if you have not already. Stay safe. And Take the Time to be Safe out there.@@allthingswood2001

I guess it looks that way in the video. The property hasn’t been commercially logged in 25 years. I wish o had time to thin out all the small stuff to help manage the forest. There is tons of wood left. I only take what I need to heat my house and the cottage. Maybe one day I’ll have time to manage the forest in the future

Iv looked every where for the company I bought the power feed system and I can’t find it. The original email I saved is no longer valid. I used full length of chain with a magnetic gear motor similar to a dump truck tarp motor. It came with a control box and a variable speed control unfortunately I don’t know the name of the company that made it I thought I saved photos of the invoice sorry man

Thank you very much for your reply. I did look up your video on woodland talks and found in one of the pic's the name of the place you bought the motor and controls thru E Bay. It was from PG Saw and Fabricating in British Columbia Canada. Im in Ontario Canada. I have already got a truck tarp motor and a PWM controller thru amazon and am trying to do it a little cheaper than what you paid. I see you use a potentiometer for speed control that is what the PWM will do for me. Your set up confirms what I'm doing will work for me for under $400. thanks again. I enjoy your videos. If your interested I will send you what I have done when finished and tested.

@@allthingswood2001 OK I will send you some pics when I finish it. I will be working on it very soon. Yes I was looking at the epic saw also, looks very interesting but I have already installed motorized up/down ( trailer electric jack power head ) and a dro digital scale, they both work very well. What are the prices of the epic saw; auto set would be very nice. It looks like you are also from Ontario, I'm between Napanee & Belleville. Where are you from, I see Amherst crane you can't be far away from me? I have looked at all your videos you are a talented guy; I'm a little old to be climbing trees anymore.

The way you did your butt and pass was the way I thought of too. This way you measure all the logs the same length(if it's a square cabin) and don't have short and long ones. Totally made sense to me. You spiral one way on the first layer, then spiral the opposite way on the next layer. Keep alternating back and forth. Seems like it would be faster to me. I love the way you notched the side to accept the butt of the other side log. Thinking of trying this type of building.
@allthingswood2001

Thanks a lot. I have always liked the look of butt and pass I want my corners to look seamless from the inside so I came up with the 2” notch idea. All my logs are 18’ I measured 16’2” to the notch and it gives me 16’ inside dimensions. Works out quite well
