I grew up with this wonderful decoration and I Admiral this handcraft a lot. So wonderful, that it still exists.

What a great episode! Thank you for sharing all this knowledge. As a new collector of German nutcrackers, I wish I learned about them back when you were still selling them.

This looks like just the place I would love to visit. My wife and I just received an authentic German built pyramid as a Christmas present from our daughter and her boyfriend. It is now a cherished addition to our Christmas décor.

You present beautifully on television! You appear quite natural, engaging, and very much at ease. I hadn't realized The Nutcracker ballet wasn't performed in the US until 1944, and I thought the Nutcracker tradition itself was much older. How wonderful that you brought this information to light; such fascinating history behind your beautiful Nutcracker collection!

I would love to know what issue of Country Living you and the nutcrackers you were featured in.

So sorry to be getting back to you just now, Mr Ampersand78! My On the Road feature on Seiffen was in the December 1999 issue of Country Living. I was also quoted in the December 2001 issue, which featured many nutcrackers from my own collection. That issue also featured the limited edition Ivory Jacket Fuechtner nutcracker that I talked about in the podcast. Thanks for watching!!

So happy to see you talking about these marvelous works of art again, Betsy. I bought a red Turk (KWO) from you as you were closing up, but also many others during your early 90's business, including the limited edition Santa you commissioned (I think through Mueller). Great video!
