Beautiful place . I was down there too several times a long long time ago back in the 90s . I don't remember seeing as much litter back then . I think I will bring along a garbage bag and remove some trash on my next hike . I just wish there was a place to lock my bicycle there but it doesn't seem like there is .

Where is the closest nice beach that is made of sand rather than pebbles near this halifax waterfront? I hope the polticians invest in tourism better cause seems lacking a real beach downtown.
@thenovascotian

There are tons of beaches here. Black Rock Beach is just a 5 minute drive and Kidston Lake Beach is a little nicer around a 20 to 30 minute drive.

Have seen both Calgary Zoo & Shubenacadie Wildlife Park but somehow never knew about the Aylesford,NS zoo. IT is absolutely massive and well laid out with lots of room for the various species of wildlife and even Koi. The filming was top notch and almost like being there. The day of filming was perfect and a great spot for a family to spend a day and enjoy nature. The variety of animals here is incredible. This spot is on my bucket list to get from Halifax to see this gem in nature. Thanks for filming. 👍👍👍👍👍🥇🥇🥇😎😎😎

Wow Andrew, this is an excellent video! I have been visiting here over the years and have always focused on the delicious maple product and chatting with the Hunters, so I never paid attention to how the system actually works. Our family has been friends with the Hunters for generations and for anyone who has a sweet tooth and a love of the outdoors, it is very worthwhile to make a trip to the Sugar woods!

When I was a teenager, me and my buddies{ all from Shearwater} used to take a tiny boat over to that Island and party on weekends. No doorways were sealed in those days. We went there 3 times. One time , we slept in and old abandoned lighthouse and another we slept in and old abandoned church. Even though we all did drugs and drank, I have memories from there I will never forget!!
