Immense concert. What colours, what sonorities in the Brahms Sonata, which is a very difficult work to pull off and Gelber really does!

In the Etude Op 25 No 1 in A flat major, the pianist doesn’t play the third full bar correctly. He is playing the eleventh full bar, which is similar, by mistake. 1:36:54.

Oh! I happened to meet this Beethoven No.4 Piano Concerto by Perahia and London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Haitink. Yeah! I was moved so graceful, beautiful touch and natural tempo through to the end. Especially first inducement to figure of the First movement is so so beautiful and graceful by all of you. I'm afraid that the first movement motive in solo part.is so difficult for every Pianist and more also for conductor. I hear that "Beethoven said Tempo is Music" (92Yrs.Japanese) sorry strange English.

A highly spiritual interpretation of one of Beethoven's most spiritual works. Perahia and Beethoven- the partnership of two compatible minds each helping the other fulfill their destiny.

I saw him years ago in Madison, Wisconsin. It was the greatest live piano playing I've ever heard in my life. He was humble and withdrawn, efficiently go to and leaving the piano, but that introversion produced sounds of unimaginable beauty,

It would be so wonderful if concert pianists would avoid playing Bach altogether, as Emmanuel Ax did, because it’s too difficult to realize on the huge grand piano. Listen to this French Suite played by Glenn Gould, and perhaps you’ll hear the difference. CSo, while I love Perahia’s art, I’m so disappointed in the way he plays Bach. Any great concert pianist who plays Bach using the sustain pedal doesn’t have a grip, it’s really that simple…people who have studied with Bach keyboard works with experts know that his music isn’t his any more when it’s played like Schubert, and the playing so offends the ear that it isn’t possible to describe. The mush that stupid pedal produces in the exquisitely dense and intricate counterpoint on the grand piano turns Bach into something grotesque….it is no longer recognizable as Bach.
