Not really? Among Us is more of a social deduction / party game; T-1000 is a singleplayer Stealth game more akin to Metal Gear Solid or Hitman. I guess both have some shared elements of stealth and disguise, but it’s a very slim comparison imo XD

@IMISelfАй бұрын
You can actually block/exclude tags on Steam which will remove them from the Discovery Queue, such as "Fighting". You click on your Steam profile in the top right, click "Store Preferences", scroll down to the section "Tags To Exclude" and you can type in certain tags you want Steam to filter out. Just a little pro tip! 😁👍

i think your coming at this from the wrong angle. sure its bad if someone with a disability can't enjoy your product but that doesn't matter if your first priority is money. a much better example would be talking about controller support, not only do you allow people to enjoy the game a different way but you also allow people who can't use a keyboard the ability to play which increases profits. its like removing the eggs from the cake because someone at the party is Vegan, but this also allowed the people allergic to eggs to eat it as well. alot of accessibility features are just features the general audience would love to have, like key rebinding and difficulty sliders
@IMISelf2 ай бұрын
I think the controller/egg example you provide there is really good! Probs something we could’ve brought up in the original video as well XD Our company values making fun games over games that is solely for profit. Obviously we want some return on our hard work, but at the end of the day no one’s gonna play our games and keep coming back to them and recommend it to others if it isn’t fun to play. That’s probably why we have the outlook and angle on accessibility we point out in the video, which I don’t think is an incorrect one. At the end of the day, we just want people to enjoy the stuff we make. 😊 Thanks for your comment! 😁

I mean generally speaking you are right. But what is if I want to put in Eggs or Nuts because. When my game needs so much input that it's simply not possible to put into those guidelines. Let's look at the benefits from videogames on development of people. To much accessibility is taking away said benefits, current studies show just that because I take away challenges.
@IMISelf2 ай бұрын
Of course you can put in those eggs or nuts, but as I brought up in the short, it then becomes important (if it is possible) to make a substitute that caters for those who can’t have those eggs or nuts. The choice should be there for the people that need it. That’s why, for example, the modern/simpler control scheme in Street Fighter 6 is a setting you can opt into, and not something they force upon players that don’t have issues with/want to play with the classic Street Fighter control scheme. Accessibility options should be just that. Options, not forceful changes. I don’t deny that there are benefits to people’s development because of video games (especially challenging ones), but some people might not be able to access those benefits because of, again, issues they cannot control. Some people want to work out and get the benefits from working out, but a certain machine or exercise might not be optimized or catered for their specific accessibility needs, and they need to find another machine or alternative exercise that works for them! Games shouldn’t get rid of the challenge, not at all. They just needs to make that challenge more accessible. Those are some great points you brought up, so I appreciate it! 😁 (And if you have those studies on accessibility, do please link them to me, cause I wanna do some research into them)
@Eridos122 ай бұрын
@@IMISelf I'm totally with you, if it's not cutting into the content itself the few extra hours of development to make the controls accessible is worth it and every dev should do that. I can't seem to find the study, I'm sorry. In short they explained the declining benefits of gaming from making them easier and more accessible for an broader audience, for example the compass pointer that brings you where you need to be... no planning skills, no orientation, no reading comprehension etc. All valuable skills I learned in video games, you were thrown into a world that was magical, unknown and hostile, most modern games totally dismiss this in favour of "quality of live" elements and take their players hands and guide them through everything. I'd love settings for my RPGs that would disable "quality of live" elements, so I could play for example Skyrim like I played morrowind... finding clues and reading through texts to find my nemesis or treasure... not by following an arrow on top of the screen
@mioszsobczyk47532 ай бұрын
You put it very well. I didn't even realize how important accessibility could be to some people. I'm an aspiring game developer and will definitely have to think of some ways to make my future games more accessible. I don't expect my creations to be succesful, but even if just one more person will be able to enjoy them, then putting extra effort into them makes it worth it.

Unless it compromises the enjoyment for normal players then yes i agree, with the baking example adjusting the ingredients could make a whole different experience
@IMISelf2 ай бұрын
Of course, I’m just using the baking metaphor as a way to easily explain the importance of accessibility. In games, most often you would want to give people a substitute, AKA a choice that people can choose or not. Like an option in the settings menu that allows you to slow down the game time, which could help players with motor and/or cognitive problems. Giving people a choice is great, but you don’t try to force changes if you don’t think everyone will be accepting of it. 👍
@chunkycheese25642 ай бұрын
Then it's just the cake example how in any world could accessibility compromise the normal players and using "normal" is also alienating in it of itself soo...
