Square Enix has literally made some of the best music of all time. Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, and now this. Emulating the wide range of human emotions, while complementing any and all terrains, without ever overdoing it and leaving enough open-ended space as a nod to the player that this is YOUR journey too. For this game, I would have to say Partitio has my favorite track. The energy just feels contagious and unstoppable. As far as their whole roster goes, Cosmos Canyon and RedXIIIs story from FF7 is one of the most beautiful pieces of art I ever witnessed.

I can't play any of this so I'm stuck watching people play lmao but holy crap I wasn't expecting Vide's phase 2 to go full heavy orchestral metal with a whole ass drop-tuned 7 string guitar (probably a Baritone too)🤣 I know they have the Break/Boost OST albums from Octopath 1 where they put the metal rearrangements as the Boost version but I didn't expect them to do that in the actual sequel.

interestingly, this theme will still play if you never fight the optional bosses. my first chapter 4 that I played is hikari's (because I want to play the 5-tiered tower) Because hikari has a lot of big battles before the final boss of his chapter... Both Ritsu and Shadow Hikari has this as their theme. but until then, the first you will LIKELY hear this is from optional dungeons still. the biggest sucker punch for me is when some optional bosses will show up as regular encounters.
