Open deck is fine because the head will hold the cylinders in place.

Thanks bro. It's working. My HRV is alive 😅. I change distributor COIL. Very cheap

I'll be doing this soon. I replaced EVERY steering part, added $250 arm supports and still have almost an inch of play. Wasn't like that before my lift and alignment so I'm thinking they messed with it.

Why does an engine need a knock sensor in the first place. I replaced one on an Audi recently and it solved the hesitation problem it had. I dont think older cars had them

Great! I'll try that suggestion to check fuses. I'll give you a feedback if it fix it.

Let me understand this properly. You just spray a head gasket? How this supposed to help?

The thing you are takling about that controls idle is the IACV it's on the other side of the manifold. the black box is what controls the secondary intake runners or IAB (intake air bypass) "butterflies" you are correct about it being a "mini throttle blade" inside the manifold but as for its function, you have that mixed up with the IACV (intake air control valve) -that does not use vacuum, it is electronically controlled and allows more air into the manifold based on electrical load as seen by the ELD (Electronic Load Detector)

Thank you, it worked on my honda 2005 pilot. Instead of oil I used grease.

The service manual says never reuse gaskets. It says not to spray any other spray gaskets on genuine gaskets.
@Z-Ack
@Z-Ack 2 ай бұрын
It also says to only use the expensive oem fluids or it will break the motor.. but you can put the equivalent knock off cheap stuff and get same results.. service manuals also tell you to take apart a whole bunch of stuff to do certain jobs when u can bypass much of it and finish in a fraction of the to time..

note that the rotor screw can be very tight, be very careful, use your best philips or better yet japanese JIS. I messed the head of the screw up, had to drill it and use an easy out to get it out, what a job

Noticed the last couple weeks that my lights didn't seem to be as bright as they used to be and then dark early this morning realized that my brights weren't working at all, just the low beams. If it was just one… but with both at the same time this seems like most likely culprit. Still have indicator on the dash by the way to indicate that they are supposed to be on… Just about always find disconnecting something (by hand especially, but otherwise as well) where you "just" have to press the tab to be the worst part of doing these things myself… but now I have an idea of what comes next. Thanks for your video, very helpful. (2003 Honda Accord LX, now approaching 304K miles.) (And just checked again, still not working, but noticed a relay that's probably supposed to turn on the brights is still clicking when turned on or off.) Edit: The bad news is that pulling the old one out and cleaning it up (it was just a little dirty on some of the tracks) didn't make a difference. The better news is that a new replacement one did the same thing. Ergo, the old switch seems to be okay. And the fuses were all intact so not that either. So… the really bad news is now I have to try and replace the bulbs (presumably one and then the other somewhere along the line failed), which is the biggest pain in the butt I've ever gone through in the past with this car (the fuel filter being a close second), and another decade probably won't make it any easier, as the bulb socket thingies get frozen solid in there and the wire connectors are just as stubborn if not worse. Grabbing a couple bulbs tonight… And looking so forward to spending hours getting them loose and out again and replacing their bulbs. Just one for starters though, going with the one in front of the battery, I recall it was the easier one, but probably not by much. And if that one works, then on to the other.

Thanks for this video! Watched this video 6 years ago for the 2017 eclipse with my dad and I've done this trick 3 times now (for the eclipse in 2017, a partial eclipse in 2023, and getting totality this past monday)... def saved a lot of money taking eclipses with this method so thank you so much :D (plus the colors of the eclipse are very rich and beautiful through the candle soot, idk the reason but it looks really cool!)
