hello, In the video I did not explain this part very clearly, on your color ramp there should be two colors by default. If you want to add another color to the color ramp there is a little + in the top left of the node. I hope this fixed your issue. If it did not fix your issue I will be willing to help you further. Ok to get the texture I got it needs to be rendered with cycles render engine. You can enable this by clicking the render settings on the right. and switching it te cycles from evee. after that add a plane under the candy and change it to shiny black material. Does this answer your question?

sorry to hear that. Sorry, I took so long to respond as well. at the part, you specified all you need to do is when it is flat go into edit mode using the tab button, and then hit a then e then z. this should extrude it upwards. After that, you need to exit edit mode using tab again. now add the modifier. and it should work. Please let me know if this answered your question if not I can try to explain it better.
