If you mean how do you lock the gate, usually they come with a short chain to to loop around the other post. The hinge pin locks underneath a knob on the tpost. see more information on our website www.smartatfixes.com/hang-a-gate

I have 7 ft t-post that are a little over 2” wide.. do you know if this product will fit? I was having trouble finding out.

All our t-post products are designed to fit standard t-posts. The width is 1 5/8” wide, and 1 1/4” deep, not counting the knobs on the post. Hope that helps!

No brave for the T-post? I hope it is a narrow gate. Even then it's best to brace the end of any termination of wire fence.

Drive in the posts deeper in the back. For A roof: pre-manufacture roof trusses and set on top of headers, hanging by lumber brackets on outside edge of barn.

Follow-up: Received my Johnny Slide today.. packed safe and secure with all the hardware needed to install. *Wow.. what a beauty* ! Great craftsmanship, lots of documentation, super easy install... I've added a bit of wax on the routed slides to prevent wear since I'll be sliding it every day.. love it! Thanks Franz!

This is one of the best things ever made. I didn’t have a clue how I was going to hang my gate until I found this. I highly recommend this product because it works great, a heavy gate will bend the t-post a little bit tie-wire or clamps will hold it up! I am going to make a video showing how I used this product. I plan to get more products in the future!

Update: Today, (02/23/19), my son drove a t-post into ground at the location we wanted to hang the gate. We followed the easy-to-read instructions re hinge pin placements & our gate installation took less than a minute! We could use it right away & did! How would I hang a temp gate in section of barbwire fence? Like with a wooden pallet for gate... Having pasture backed to ours and we allowed to ride there so need a easy way go through without pulling wire back every time.

Create an opening between two tposts to fit gate. Loosen wire from gatepost slide on hinge pins, hang gate, reinstall fence wire.
