Sounds like the company you left was Walgreens. This company used to be good until the Italian ceo took the reins and ruined the company. Glad you quit b/c its not worth your peace of mind. It's a very demoralizing workplace. As pharmacists we all pay the price for corp mismanagement. The new ceo has already announced closure of up 1/4 underperforming stores of its 8000plus stores. I suspect even closure of 1/2 of its stores will not save this sinking ship.

@thaiinphilly4041 Жыл бұрын
the hardest part of the job is that you have to have critical thinking when the case does not follow the guidelines or criteria, professional judgment. coz not every criteria or guidelines would fit exactly to the case, however you have to have medical journal to support your decision if not comply with the treatment guideline

Hi Thai InPhilly. I'm an old timer. I graduated pharmacy school in '82 and worked retail pharmacy for big chains 'til '96. I was so burned out that I had visions of dropping dead at work. So many of my slightly older colleagues did die prematurely of heart attacks. I was scared and sick when I finally made the decision to leave. I can hear in your voice how upset you are too. My heart goes out to you. I think you are making a good decision and it will take some time for you to realize that. You have already proven by going through pharmacy school that you are hard working and dedicated. You will be successful and live a good life. Retail pharmacy is NOT the place for you. Big companies and their bottom lines make it impossible to protect patients and practice in an ethical and safe way. You have a conscience and high morals and there is no way you can ignore this in your practice. You are making the right decision. You'll see.
