I really enjoyed Let's Go! To Japan solo. And you can't completely ignore what your opponent gives you as there are multiple turns wher eyou have to ONLY choose from what you have been given. I care about art. If you've watched our stuff you know that art really can make or break a game for us.
@dadsanddice4 күн бұрын
I get what your saying about Let's go! To Japan, don't get me wrong I think the solo is fine i just wouldn't play it very often. It's pretty easy to manipulate the bot and have them play the worse scoring cards unlike a real opponent who has the choice. You're right, you can't just completely ignore it, but in the grand scheme of things you will almost always be able to place a card somewhere and it won't have a major impact on game play, at least that's how I've felt after the few (4) games I've played The art is what usually draws me in but it will not make or a break a game for us. I've played plenty of terrific games that look terrible and plenty of great looking games that have no substance

At the end of the game I felt like I had made a mistake. I rechecked and turns out I did. Starting at around 49:16 I begin treating trading as a free action, it is not! I do this repeatedly until around 1:38:11 when I start placing the dice again. The end game scoring would have been vastly different, I do not claim the victory

Nice! After playing inventors how does it stack up for you vs wayfarers? Is there one you prefer?
@dadsanddice12 күн бұрын
That’s a couple great questions. First from a solo standpoint this AI is very simple to run and manage. It does use its own symbols, but overall once you understand, the AI turns are snappy (less than 30 seconds). Not that wayfarers is hard, but it does have the typical Garphil if it gets this reward, give it that. Or pausing to see what it’s targeting. So from the AI standpoint this one is great. Now it’s a bit early for me to make the call between this and wayfarers. I got to play Inventions again last night and the game went wildly different than the first. Much less workshop tiles and not a full fleshed engine. I have played wayfarers ~10 times, so I have a very solid grasp of that game. Until I get more plays of Inventors I don’t know that it’s fair to decide, but I may lean toward Inventors. While I love the sandbox of wayfarers, every turn in Inventors had so much depth when it came to the decisions. But it could just be the freshness, time will tell.
