Rinse 5-7 minutes ? ?! REALLY? Do you rinse your own hair that long? That is an AMAZINGLY long time to rinse. Good shampoo should easily, quickly. & throughly rinse away. Sweet bath time though.. the rinse time just shocked me.
@MelanieNewmanSalonEssentials5 күн бұрын
This ensures all dirt, debris, pollution and products are rinsed out. Your rinse time can be shorter, if needed. And yes, if I didn’t wash my hair for 6 weeks I probably would rinse for that long. 💗🐩✂️

The previous owners should have to experience the same type thing. Don't allow them to wash or comb brush or cut their bodies and hair . add some long assed dreadlocks that are dirty and full of multiple legged insects. Make them walk the streets begging for food or attention. Have people walk by them ignoring them staring pointing at them. Not being able to ask for help or say how much it hurts. That in my opinion would be the perfect punishment for this crime committed against this furry li'l friend. Shame on you people shame

Took my dog to the groomer and she was clipped bald down there. I was shocked that all the hair was removed. Miss Marley looked like she was uncomfortable sitting down. She wasn’t her normal playful self. She is a Carin terrier, should she have been clipped that low? I wish I could put photos of her.
@MelanieNewmanSalonEssentials25 күн бұрын
@@peppermint4425 I am sorry you had a bad experience with a groomer. Had you been to that groomer before? I alway communicate with the owner on a length that suits the dog’s lifestyle and environment. Carin Terriers are a hand stripped breed, had she been stripped before? Maybe she is itchy from the clipping around her bum area, it may feel weird for her with no hair, try putting some baby powder around there. I hope she feel better soon🫶 One of my poodles gets uncomfortable when I take him short and he hides, it’s weird🫣
@peppermint442525 күн бұрын
@ wow thank you for responding so quickly. No she’s never been hand stripped. She’s two years old but I’ve only had her for a year and she’s been to the groomer 4 times since I’ve had her. This is the first time she’s been shaved that low. Again thanks for your quick response.
@MelanieNewmanSalonEssentials25 күн бұрын
You are very welcome, I would definitely chat to them the next time you take her about leaving her coat a little longer, it you are happy with clipping and not hand stripping, I would maybe suggest a 1/2” snapon attachment comb, this may eliminate her feeling that she can’t sit or be herself . Let me know how she goes next time💗

Hi i was wondering my mom has a 7 almost 8 year old Papillon she got him at 6 years old and was neutered at around 3 years old we have had quite a bit of trouble with his coat getting quite a bit of knots she brushes him every other day though but i was wondering if a comb would be better and what comb would be best suited for this situation he has a really thick coat and i would consider it a little bit dense 🙈 i would love any pointers since i don't know this i have long hair Russian Toy's and i am quite used to them and grooming them which is way different
@MelanieNewmanSalonEssentialsАй бұрын
@@asdisosk1669 hello, 👋 what type of brush is your mom using now? If your moms Pap has a dense coat, I would use a slicker that has firm pins, this will assist in removing any loose hairs. But a papillion shouldn’t have overly thick hair, is it the fine hairs that are forming knots? The slicker I would try using is - melanienewman.com.au/products/universal-slickers Or something similar. But I really need to know what hairs are becoming knotty. When using a comb on thick comb, I would use a comb where the pins are further apart, similar to this- melanienewman.com.au/products/large-black-comb Please let me know how you go, if you would like to send photos of your mom’s dog, then I get a better idea of what equipment would be best suited, [email protected] I hope this helps and happy holidays 🎄

Great video. Could you clear something up? You said you used 13mm #3F on body but 13mm comb on ears. Is there a reason one shouldn’t use the blade on the ears? I ask because I have a 3F blade but no combs, and I want to know if it is ok.
@MelanieNewmanSalonEssentialsАй бұрын
Yes, you can use any length on the ears. I used a 13mm comb because i cut the length of her head longer and her legs and tail are longer, so this balances out the trim. If I did a shorter length on her ears, I would do the same length on her tail as well, as this can help balance the hair cut.
@souldreamer9056Ай бұрын
Thanks, but Sorry. Still confused. Maybe I’m slow. What I don’t get is: If the 3F blade you used on the body is 13mm and the comb you used on the ears is 13mm, why would one result in longer or shorter length?
@MelanieNewmanSalonEssentialsАй бұрын
The 3f is slightly shorter. I would say the 3f leaves the hair slightly shorter as the blade cuts cleaner and attachment comb leaves the coat slightly longer as the comb has to glide through the coat and the blade used with the snap on attach ment comb has to work harder and you have to go over the area you are clipping a few times to get the hair even. I know this can be confusing💗
@souldreamer9056Ай бұрын
@@MelanieNewmanSalonEssentials oh I see. Now I get it. You explained well. So can I assume that I could achieve something similar with a 3F blade on head, tail and legs, and the slightly shorter 4F on the body?
@MelanieNewmanSalonEssentialsАй бұрын
@@souldreamer9056 yes, but it will take it slighty shorter, I would lightly skim over it and then scissor over to keep a bit of length on. Yes the 4f will cut shorter than the 3f💗

An amazing thorough presentation. I learned so much 😊 I've always groomed my large dogs(German shepherds) but now I have a 30 lb mixed poodle and I find her to be extremely high maintenance in comparison to my German shepherds. Thank you so much for your presentation I could never figure out what the Combs purpose were for because every time I snap one on it made no difference in my cutting. Therefore I would just use the blade as my dogs were always a takedown especially over the summer months so they can play in their pool. Now that I have a mixed poodle I really have my work cut out for me. So I'm trying to glean as much as I can and you have been very thorough and I appreciate it. Because I'll watch you over and over again. On behalf of my pup thank you 🐾🐾❤️

Hi Donna, snap on attachment combs can be tricky, what blade length are you using underneath the snap on? I use a 30 blade as I find it cuts smoothly. It may be that you have to use of shorter snap on attachment combs. Let me know how you go💗

That's the magic of poodles! They are trained from a young age, as they should be. That's why poodles are such amazing dogs, the owners actually care about them, train them and socialize them. All dogs need a lot of socialization and training, but owners are greedy and they get a dog because they are "cute", then they don't tend to any of their needs.
