It makes me water up, seeing you play this guitar. I did beat you to it though. I wandered down the wrong hallway in search of a restroom at the Salem Civic Center. Approx. 1979 or 80. Doc invited me in and handed this guitar to me. I was a beginner . He even have me a lesson on it. I love that you are carying on his music . I can tell that Doc was your biggest influence by far,, as he was mine. We love you brother. Keep it going so grandkids will know of Doc and of you..

The time it takes to build up the finger isolation in order to play it as subtly beautiful as Townes does just makes this look 1 step above amateur and 2 steps beneath Townes.

The song was written by Utah Phillips, on his way home from Korea he got a dear John letter form his wife. He never recorded it because he said it was too bitter, but JD Crowe had a big hit out of it. Please check out his version.
@Bikewer5 күн бұрын
Just listened to the J.D. Crowe version from that old album. His arrangement is followed very closely by a recording on Earl Scruggs’ “I saw the light with a little help from my friends” album. Vocals by Tracy Nelson and Linda Ronstadt… Absolutely stellar.

I think what are doing is great. My reasoning is that add things to your music and love experimenting with where you can go with your music! I love the way you communicate with your audience. I love Doc Watson music. Check out Meryle Watson's song, Thoughts of Never. That was Docs' favorite song. Ilove all your songs that you do too. You are an awesome song composer and writer. I play guitar as well I watch closely with what you do and how you do it. Just keep at what your doing! You are doing and growing well with your music. I love listening to you and your band. You are all great together!

Mr Billy Strings I am so impressed with you and the love you spread thru your own wonderful music and many covers that we all love to hear from your excellent guitar skills and superb voice. I pray for you young man to stay grounded and keep on keeping on. I love that you’d have a couple doobs in Mr Fowleys honor. I would sh I couod have been there with you. I just found Blaze within last month When I heard if I could fly a wonderful song from Blaze I cried my eyes out. So touching. So again Mr Stings stay away from that bad shit, you have a long and excellent career ahead and we’re all excited to watch you grow.
