This was a really nice video, but I don't think subscription costs are exactly top of mind for most people. Multichoice probably spends more money on local jobs than any other non-retail company in SA. If its DStv product undergoes any notable cost cutting, it's these jobs that suffer and the many NGOs and schools that depend on them for sponsorship. I don't think the competition commission should even consider allowing the transaction to go through because there's just waaay too much at stake.

Bollore held 29.9% of the share capital of Vivendi Group which owns Canal + so technically its not bollore buying Multichoice its Vivendi. anyways nice content

But I am sad though. I think multichoice should restructure. South Africa should fight for its heritage.

as a French person whom has used both platforms I think it will be a win win situation. both platforms have a lot of good things so share and both are big in African contents even those canal plus is a French company. but I agree with Naspers must leave Multichoice grown to the African giant that it is already.

reruns of old tv shows and reality shows, expensive cost for premium content in the internet era and mainly for me only having F1 on the most expensive package. I can't pay $90+ a month just to watch 2 races when I can have cheaper unlimited wifi and just stream the race.

I like your format. Looks great. I'm surprised you haven't spoken about Showmax when you infer streaming as a threat, since that's MultiChoice's answer to streaming. I think they are even doing the sports on Showmax now.

Their absurd prices gave other players to take over. Not long ago in Uganda people were boycotting them and they didn’t change. I am not surprised most stuff is happening.

Would be great to see greater competition in the African market of broadcasting sports content! But that might have certain repercussions for Multichoice 😅. Excellent vid 🙌🏽.

It's true....I feel like they didn't invest enough in developing a counter strategy to streaming. I think they could have developed a more rural approach.

Mugabe was the promoter of corruption. He wanted a one party state to crush resenting voices during the early years of independence. ZAPU was a threat to the corrupt ZANU. Hence the dissidents issue was used and propaganda.

Something I forgot to mention in my earlier comment. You seemed to suggest that at 216 lbs that Ali was not in the best of shape. At 32 years of age, he was in tremendous condition. His iron midsection is what allowed him to take Foreman’s thunderous blows for 8 rounds. Yes, Ali was a bit heavier than when he was at 25 but that is to be expected as one matures. For the Foreman fight Ali was in absolute peak condition. To suggest otherwise is ridiculous.

Some of your photos are shown backwards. And at least two of them do not display the Ali-Foreman fight. You also fail to mention that Ali did far more than just lay against the ropes while Foreman wore himself out. Ali also HIT Foreman with lead rights and excellent combinations throughout the fight. Ali did far more than simply stand against the ropes. By the time the knockout occurred at 2:58 of the 8th round Ali was ahead on all scorecards. A decent but somewhat lazy effort on your part.

The books and videos by Piero Gliejeses are excellent, they focus on the Angolan side of the border wars. A lot of right wing South Africans and ex-military refuse to believe what he writes, despite lots of evidence, they still believe the apartheid-era propaganda. That the Cubans and Angolans defeated South Africa in 1988 at the battle of Cuito Cuanavale, which helped end Apartheid. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gaq0YWxqrdOsfpo
