@@itzzgraham yeah after jumping it off the ramps I did tune the shocks, I had to bring up the rear end quite a bit, minor adjustments to the front, when I added the wide kit to the og Maxx I adjusted those as well raising the rear a front to prevent that chassis slap

Glad your back in it, the Revo is the top of the line nitro when it comes to Traxxas, yeah there’s something about the sound of a real engine and nitro smoke in the air that really creates that scale experience 🤙

I really wanted to buy this first thing, but I'm gonna hold out. Knowing Traxxas, we'll get a VXL or upgraded version within a year probably. Edit: I should have waited to comment, you said the exact same thing, haha!

@@rmarkley79 yeah I think the bls 2 system is taking the place of Traxxas brushed kits, so with that being said those kits sometimes come out first and the vxl versions later for some reason, Arrma did the same thing with their mini line, they released brushed versions first and then later on the brushless versions, that’s why I waited on those, we’ll see what happens in the case of the mini Maxx🤙

@@DIRTBALL5200 yeah I guess I could, I did a video like that for the nitro rustler, break in, tune and maintenance, the Tmaxx is a little more involved and I’ve learned a lot more since then, so it would be worth it, your not the first to ask me that so I will definitely put videos like that in the line up🤙

@@MrJames6891 every tune may vary depending on the weather, location and fuel type, just play around with it and see what works best for you, the rustler is very easy to tune 🤙

Still using same motor? I have the original motor in my jato 3.3 but blew the 3.3 in my slash a while ago. I feel like tuning at high altitude can be a challenge

My only gripe is the price only because I have a typhon grom blx and that thing is 57 mph out the box on 3s for me $199 would have the sweat spot and I have to invest a little more money to get it to 3s regardless the mini maxx is a great mini basher and I like it

Yeah the price is outrageous lol, that’s Traxxas for you lol, always gotta be way more expensive than the competition lol, I wouldn’t be surprised if they come out with another one vxl equipped, you remember Arrma did that with their minis, brushed then later re released brushless, I agree 200 is more reasonable or they could have left out that charger and battery added the vxl system and kept it the same price, the included radio is bottom of the barrel too, I’ve had range issues with the TQ in the past, just have see how it goes I guess, the truck itself looks clean though, can’t wait to run it 🤙

I've got the itch for EXACTLY this car. You mention the transmittor not being pistol grip. I've got an 8 channel I use on all my cars, I'm going to see if I can work with it, but the layout of the included transmittor does seem to be optimized for the hydraulics. I've got enough buttons, but it'll be a pain in the ass assigning them all, learning them, and remebering them, plus I'm thinking having those switches probably adds to the fun, so I'm gonna end up agreeing with you, this radio is gonna be the way to go in the end. I'm going to be paying $379 for it. Check this out, I go to the Redcat website, and screw up, clicking on the sale tab. DAMMIT! So, this IS NOT on sale, but know what is? The RDS is $239!!! Normally $399. That's their really well regarded rwd drifter... Also, for $20 more than the Monte Carlo, I can get the SIX cell 1:6 scale Machete! REALLY? So a HUGE 6th scale 60/70mph 6s basher BEAST, for basically the same money, OR, a 1:10 scale drift car, that's good enough to get from just starting, up to competing, for the same price, if I save my savings for the new servo, which is all that drifters say you'll wanna change out within a year or so of starting out. This sucks lol, can only do 1. This thing is so sick for sure, but unless i'm going to go the pimp my ride route with it, it's more of a solo toy, whereas bsshing and drifting can be a group thing, better that way in fact. ... you don't give a crap about all that lol, sorry bud. Yes, which several hundred dollar pointless man toy do I blow my money on.. 1st world problems if ever there was such a thing, am I right? we roughin it out here lmao

I got these for my boys since that’s what they asked for for Christmas. They are 8 and 6 and never had RC cars. They have had an absolute blast since Christmas with them. We’ve been getting a ton of rain so they’ve had them out in the mud and water and then spend 2 hours afterwards cleaning all the mud out. I got them some silicone spray to spray on the chassis to clean them. We will see how long they last with the beating they are already putting on them.

@ Traxxas claims that the mini Maxx has “bomb proof” diffs (their words) yet they break running the 3s vxl system, also it’s hard to find anywhere on the site unless they recently changed it that you will also need a center diff upgrade to run 3s, they say the diffs are sealed with silicon gaskets yet they are actually paper gaskets, soooooo…….

@@thischildishlifestyle thanks bro, yeah I had a lot of trouble making this video, had to keep it family friendly lol, your right Traxxas is always overpriced but they are getting outta control lol, it’s getting to the point were they aren’t even trying to hide it anymore lol, it’s a blatant rip off, why do think I never picked up the Maxx Slash even on sale lol, they are really milking the Maxx name lol, you know me bro, most of my Rc’s are Traxxas more than half of my collection and I’m close to 50 kits now and with so many other options out there, better quality more power and a way cheaper price, it’s just not worth it any more, I’m getting older and I have a busy schedule, I don’t have time to completely rebuild every Rc I buy from Traxxas to get it running right when it should have came that way out of the box for the price, upgrades are one thing but complete electronic rebuilds of every major component down to even the radio now is another, I want to love the mini Maxx, you know the Maxx is my favorite truck but they failed with this one, just being real, thanks for watching bro 🤙

The maxx is quicker and will get up to speed much faster then the erevo. The erevo on the other hand tops out at 70 with faster gearing while the maxx only tops at 60. So in a 50 ft drag the maxx would win. In a 200ft drag the erevo would win

@@darrincelendano2676 yeah by lifting the body it probably will catch more air, its just the nature of a short coarse truck, they pretty much all do that, the only remedy I’ve found is by cutting holes in the body and even then it still might catch air, especially jumping off a ramp, the body is set too low when mounted out of the box causing the rear tires to rub when turning, my slash ultimate had the same problem, so I put a proline lift kit on it, this is pretty much a damned if you do damned if you don’t situation

Yes they did, technically you can still buy it but with a new magnum 272R Transmission, the price went up a bit because of this, mine, featured in this video is the older version, the bandit vxl is the same situation, still available but kitted with new parts and a new price tag.

Over 10yrs ago my dad got me the Stampede 2wd. We had rc cars back in the 1980s. IMO stampede sucks so I modified it as much as I could to the point it didn't have any stock parts on it. Even the FLM 1/8TH scale chassis didn't make it better so I just transferred everything over to the FLM rustler chassis. So anyway the point of that was, I was looking at bodies for the rustler. All the bodies I wanted were for the 4tec.20. So now I really want this car. It looks reall cool and fast like my mini revo.

@@tattedandgatted yeah the 4tec is a good fast car in the right conditions, first the stock tires are pretty bad, some nice foamies work better , also you need the perfect run location, street with no bumps or uneven spots, a smooth flat surface, 70 mph with the included gearing. I went with the light grey corvette body with some lime green rims, threw in the high speed gearing, it flys!! Thanks for watching bro! 🤙
