Ok. Awesome. Here’s my apple tips for you. Get the ph up into 6.0 range by adding lime if need be. Plant in good soil that is well drained. Protect the roots and trunks by cutting a section of 18” aluminum window screen and making a tube by stapling the edge. Use aluminum because mice, bones, and other critters won’t chew it. When you plant the tree put this tube on. Cover the bottom of it 2-3” deep in soil. Then put some pebble stone around the trunk a ways as a mulch. Any mice, voles, squirrels don’t like digging in pebbles. That’ll keep them away. Cage the trees with a roll of 5’ or 6’ 2x4” welded wire. Add one or two t-posts and zip tie. Cut those cages in 14’ lengths so your cage is 4’ diameter. It’s going to cost you just as much to protect the tree as the tree itself. Don’t cut corners. Buy 3-5 trees and take care of them. Water if needed. Prune when needed. After the first year paint your trunks from the ground up to 4-5’ with a mixture of white latex paint and joint compound. It’ll help keep borers out. They will find your trees if unprotected. The paint will also show sawdust if they decide to bore. If you see bored dust. Look for their holes. Stick a long paper clip in as far as you can to hopefully kill the borer larvae. Don’t buy 15-20 trees and not take care of them.
@nhmountains5683
@nhmountains5683 14 күн бұрын
After you get them growing and want to expand you can buy rootstock for $3. Plant them. Let them grow fora couple years and then buy scion cuttings and graft them to the rootstock. You’ll have a tree for under $10 that’s only a year behind the nursery bought trees. Again don’t bite off more than you can handle. Start with just a few and baby them. Disease resistant trees is what you want to start.

We have a 22' tritoon with the single bimini. I'm really trying to talk myself into a larger boat with a double bimini. Keep in mind a pontoon/tritoon is already a giant windsock and when you add a bimini or 2 you have now attached 2 giant kites to your boat that will catch ALL the wind. You'll want a better than average anchor to hold you in place if you're not beaching it. Food for thought.
