Hello all. You guys are the best authentic RR in the United States and still use coal. Never stop doing that. Can’t wait to ride in July.

First to be shown; D&RGW 463. A K-27 class 2-8-2 locomotive. Second is D&RGW 489, which is a K-36 2-8-2. For the class designation the ‘K’ stands for ‘mikado’ or 2-8-2, and the ‘27’ or ‘36’ is the tractive effort of the locomotive.

How’s engine 487 operating as an oil burner? I bet it’s doing great.

487 is currently down for repairs. This video was taken in 2019. There wasn't any snow this year for the Holiday Express trains so we had to go way back to find a snowy video.

This is by far the best Railroad, Cumbres Toltec , in the United States, and you still use coal , except #489. I love #488, reworked as new, and #484, were I shoved coal in the fire box. Never forget that. I plan to come down next year to ride #483 and the BBQ too. God bless you all for keeping this RR alive, Ron from Denver. ❤️🙏

Thanks for having the best authentic railroad in the United States. I am so impressed that most of your trains still run coal, that’s what makes it the best railroad narrow gauge in America. Love the way the yard looks now. Like I was in 1880. I love what you did to #488. 484, is my favorite, got to shove coal into it once, that was the best feeling.
