From was once a nice, clean, & popular shopping destination to an abandoned building left in ruins. They tore the San Jacinto Mall down which was in Baytown, Texas & I'm sure they're going to do the same to that mall there too.

Supposedly they said they were gonna just do renovations to it,but I guess they tore it down to rebuild it,but that was year a ago and I haven't heard anything from anyone in baytown about it

@Buguese the San Jacinto Mall was torn down 2 years ago. They're suppose to build a new market place there in that same spot but haven't even started anything yet. Unless they changed their minds on the plan. Right now it's still just a big empty field with a fence around it.

@@KevinRichards-my5oj fuck man,ahs it been 2 years? I worked security for 5,and last I remembered was yeah,it was torn down and then it just remained a lot,but then no news about any new building,or rather no actual progress on it

@Buguese Baybrook Mall on the other hand still looks the same as it did back in the day when it first opened which is rare these days because you don't see many malls full of open stores around anymore like you use to back in the days before internet, i-phones, & Amazon. Another mall that's still going great is Mall of America up in Minnesota & it's the largest mall in the USA. My mom took me to the San Jacinto Mall on the day when it first opened & it was the place. I was a little kid at the time & had many fun memories visiting it. When it closed 4 years ago, it left JCPenney & Macy's as the only 2 stores to stay open. Later when the 2 stores closed, the whole mall was abandoned & left in ruins for a while until it was finally torn down.

But the economy is just fine for investors...😜. Malls are a physical example of the average Americans wealth. Even if Amazon has taken over many things people would still shop there if the average Joe was still paid good in this country.

I'm sorry, but if you're unable to get inside the building it is not worthwhile making it a video. I don't say this to be rude, but generally, people are going to come here expecting an inside exploration.

When I visited here last month, I definitely noticed the security guard roaming the mall. As for the mall itself, the layout is kind of unusual with having a cluster of anchors and mini-anchors at one end of the mall, and the Dillard entrances blending in with the mall corridor.

The start of the downfall of this mall was likely in the 2000’s when new stores opened near the mall. I would say that from 2016 on the mall kept getting worse. I will always miss going to this mall.

I used to go to this mall here and there. Now I just avoid it in general. I really don’t like going to Almeda Mall. The mall probably won’t improve because of the side of town that it’s in, not the best in my opinion.

I was at Beaumont about a month ago and stopped by Parkdale mall and Central mall in Port Arthur. I stopped by Parkdale mall on a Friday evening, and it was pretty lively. I think the mall is doing good now but could be in trouble in the next ten years if there isn't any done to help improve it. Central mall on the other hand is definitely in trouble. It's not so bad that it can't turn around, but it definitely needs help.

Back in the day before internet, malls were popular shopping destinations. These days you don't see as many around. They demolished the San Jacinto Mall which was over in Baytown, TX two years ago. I remember my mom took me to the San Jacinto Mall back on the day it first opened & I was a little kid at the time. It was the place & had many fun memories visiting it. Later in about 2004 or so, it slowly began to downsize. It was on Garth Rd & I-10 on the southwest side of the intersection.

I hope we the people can keep the malls, because of the heat outside and raining weather especially for the senior citizens. And young people who may be sicky at times. Last year in 2023 the hot temperature were in three digits, like 102, 103, 105, 106, 107 and 108 degrees. It was hot some people break out with a rass, or called heat bumps. This year people died in the living area, home because of the heat. They maybe suffocate , because of the heat. But It was because of having no electricity, because of the storms we had. Still they got hot from the heat. So please let us people keep the shopping malls available to avoid the heat rainy weather and cold weather in the winter time. Thank you!
@user-tb3hs8fc4i
@user-tb3hs8fc4i Ай бұрын
I see that there are new shopping outside center are happening. Which is kinda nice, but we still need the inside, indoors shopping centers. To show love and care for the people. Especially the senior citizens. The heat will be to much for them. They need air conditioning and other protection from raining weather.
