I'm sorry, but I heard in the delivery that it most definitely sounded like BOTH Rebel Without a Cause, AND The Room. I can see that Rebel Without a Cause is Tommy's favorite movie, and he snuck (nay, violently shoved) it into The Room just to show how inexperienced he is at writing and acting. It was most likely both movies.
