I love the way she seamlessly connects her jumps with tumbling

Without that gigantic balance break she scores a 9.85 or higher. Such a shame.

As fabulous as she was, she struggled with technique in odd places. She was so strong but besides doing the double front on vault (which wasn’t consistent, and that’s isn’t a reflection on her) she wasn’t as strong a vaulter as you’d expect. You’d assume she was capable of doing much harder vaults, and her form was always a little sloppy. And here, she was borderline incapable of tumbling backward and landing backward. It’s clear her spatial awareness in the air was thrown off whenever she had to flip backwards. It wasn’t as much an issue when she first debuted but the rules changed during this cycle where you had to have at least tumbling pass from a backward entry. The only reason she got away with it in 2000 is they figured out it could count if she did a backward somersault that landed forward. The Arabian didn’t count but the 2 ½ twist did.

I think the media didn’t know how to promote Biles and Esponda at the same time, so the youngin had to wait.

I hate watching this routine. If she was good at the reverse hect she could’ve connected it to the low bar. That dismount was never good either

Почему приземляясь после прыжка,у неё заскок,уходит за рамки,по правилам гимнастики,а ей не снижают балл,это нечестно,это уже не спорт,а грязная политика американцев

A time when gymnastics was about beauty, grace, being fluid, nowadays it's all about strength, women who look like men, it's lost the charm and magic it used to have

Interesting that in 2005, 3 of the 4 featured gymnasts at nationals (Lukins, Sacramone,Memel)were on the 2008 Olympic team. In this quad NONE of the 2012 team members are here…they are still juniors 🤔
