Nice try but what makes your tutorial almost useless is the fact that you didn't show a camera view of the speed editor device WHILE you were making the video edits. Instead, you spoke about how your buddy is awesome at his job.

Good video, i dropped by since i purchased speed editor after one year of trying resolve. Hey just being critical, stop looking at the camera screen, its quite distracting.

seeing the visual only of the speed editor and not the editing as well made it really hrd to follow as someone thats newer to both davinci and the editor, otherwise it was a good video, but im having to find another now to get a better picture

Please do not be offended this is meant to be contructive. I managed four and a half minutes watching before giving up and writing this. Firstly I apologise if this is in places somewhat blunt but sometimes bluntness is best. I had a quick scroll through the comments and there’s a lot of praise. Which I find odd as being a “never used this in my life” person I felt this video was basically a piece of s***e. I’m sitting watching this and I get a distinct, what the f**k,,, you’re showing the editor, then a bit of video, then the editor, then video, then,,,,,,,, you get the idea. Very little making any connection for me. For me the video had no flow, I could feel no progression through the steps, it appeared to be randomly jumping around. You’re doing a “video” on a “video editor” so why not a simple pic in pic so new folks like me can see exactly what you are looking at while doing what with the editor, so hopefully we can connect your voice over to the events???????? why not a very simple showing how you made this very video useing the speed editor. --- Sorry the following is an edit. --- This all started when I typed a simple search for “How to connect a DaVinci speed editor” into my search engine. First hits were from KZbin and first video was yours. I clicked on your video and was bored to distraction within four and a half minutes. And I needed to work really hard to last that long. I clicked on the very next video in the youtube recommended list and well lo and behold, a video that appears to be everything yours is not. kzbin.info/www/bejne/f5_Tnadnp5mWgq8 The presenter is talking about the very same item and although he appears to be talking faster, to me he is coming across as a lot more relaxed and a lot more engaging. They have a highlight on their mouse cursor to make watching, tracking and “connecting the dots” far less stressful and far easier to follow, along with the pic in pic to be able to see what they are doing as they describe their actions. I also noticed that the colour is vastly different between the two videos, yours feels quite cold, distant and sterile while the other quite warm and welcoming. Understanding your potential audience is very important and I think the complimentary comments were from people that already had a grasp on the speed editor before watching.

First: You wanne be a tech-tuber and whine about not getting a screwdriver. Maybe it would be a good investment for your channel to invest in one! Second: It is absolutely not interesting whether you consider the case "flimsy". It has to take no force, so it doesnt matter!

bro i want a asmr kind of setup for shorts channel this is the example :www.youtube.com/@Potpote/shorts what are the key components these videos requiures & how can i provide even better results from him like better sound... i think he is using a simple iphone and may be a tripord and not using a professional mic asa far as i can tell from that audio... I can improve that sound from may be a good quality shotgun mic ( you tell me)because it will surly improve asmr sound of the glass that breaks( i.e more satisfing) and i think i dont need a dedicated camera .. any mordren iphone would do the job ... right? can you please suggest me somthing on this?like which mic would be best for these type of videos of glass breqaking very crisp audio budget is under 200$ should be able to use with iphone like 13 pro or max as i dont think i need a special camera for more video quality iphone would be enough with a tripord anda professional mic keep in mind we are talking about that we want better quality than iphone mic thanks

So after two years how did the keyboard work out? Was this the beginning of a collection of many? What's the conclusion on the Kailh speed silver switches? I see them being offered with the cheap EVGA Z15 which I see retailing around £40. How much were the switches alone, did you swap them out at all? I'd read some comments where people weren't getting on with them and even one youtuber (sorry lost in a sea of videos) where he claimed they bust his key caps - the plastic bits above the switches that is!

What? They offered you a free keyboard with Studio? How does that work?

The key also works for the standalone version of Fusion (which is way more powerful and stable than the one in resolve) which means 3 products for the price of one.

After creating a video on the cut page if I go to the edit page the video is on one single track as I wanted but the audio is on a new track for every clip. So 100 clips means I end up with 100 audio tracks. Do you know how to stop this from happening? Cheers

I don’t always record off the Ninja V but with the A7Siii I can’t use a field monitor and get the meta data for Sony Catalyst browse. Anyone know how to fix this issue?

i tried to claim my FREE speed editor with my activation of Resolve Studio 18, but was told, "NO WAY MAN" and was give some corporate double speak as to way not, even though i had purchased a BM PCC which comes with an activation code for Resolve Studio (and had never been used). don’t you just love it when the corporates do their ripOff thang, but make out, its ur fault. I have to say I LOVE Black Magic products, but can’t stand their bottom line first/user last capitalistic ways.
@ramprasath1552 Жыл бұрын
Actually, You get a free davinci resolve studio as a gift when you buy a speed editor. But you wont get a speed editor when you buy the software seperately. It sounds strange but it is what it is.

Great video thanks. Can I just verify you were using an HDMI 2.0 cable with full size connections on both ends? I was chatting to a couple of suppliers and they said I should use micro HDMI on the Sony Camera side, but I don't think that is correct. I want to avoid ordering the Atomos and the INCORRECT cable and being left not able to use it on the first day! thanks for any help.
@TwaynePereira2 жыл бұрын
If it's the A7S3 you'll need a full HDMI on both ends. I'm using an HDMI 2.1 cable so I'm guaranteed sustained data rates for 4K60 output. If it's an older Sony camera, A7III, A7R3 it's a micro HDMI protocol on the camera body.

Hey man great video. When you actually start recording, do you just hit record on the ninja, or do you have to record to camera also? Thanks
@TwaynePereira2 жыл бұрын
Just on the ninja, however you can set it up so that when you hit record on the camera it also records on the ninja. However if you’re not using SD cards as a redundancy, this function won’t work

What would have been better is if you did a picture in picture when you were clicking the keyboard with a main screen of the editor window so we could see the direct correlation.

Does it only record RAW? I've been trying to get my Ninja V to record ProRes 422 HQ with my Sony A7SIII, but for some reason the Sony will only recognize and record to the Ninja when shooting in RAW
@TwaynePereira2 жыл бұрын
You have to turn RAW output off on the Sony side. Then on the Ninja V, you'll have various flavours of ProRes to choose from.

Probably best to download the free version of DaVinci Resolve and watch Blackmagic Design’s free training on the program. That way you can have a better understanding of the program and if it’s right for you before upgrading to the studio version (which comes with the editor).
